NBA Live 06 was released today!

I've tried backing down Amare in the same game, it doesnt seem to grab as nicely if grab is the right word, in 05 you could just hold the button down move towards the basket and it would asssume the position and proceed to back down.

In 06 he just sorta looks stupid and gets the ball stolen haha.

Well, sometimes I'd like to play off ball on defense controlling another player. And Jumaine Jones would stuff the shit out of... Vince Carter, Jason Richardson etc... with blocks at 0. So, basically, in your face J's in 05 = block or miss.

exactly what i ment.......i rarely get blocked on jumpers anymore. That is why there was a freestyle stick and a step back move. In real life i don't dribble up and shoot leaning into a guy or right in his face where he can swat it. I just step back or fade away. Same as in live 2005......straight up jumper with another guy on you is a block......pretty logical to me.

hey fritzy or kmart, can you guys answer my question?

ok now for hte controversial question...having played this and seeing videos from ESPN NBA 2k6...would you say this has been a much more improved 06 from last year? and is it better or sub par in comparison with 2k6's vids? just be a little open minded for now, im not trying to promote 2k basketblal, just trying to explore my options...i liked the NBA live 2006 vids better than 2k6 but i liked 2k5 than this years nba live 2005

okay my theory is proven right once again. EA is one capitalistic bastard organization. Each year the have to fuck somethign up in the game in order to keep selling the next year. If they would make a perfect game, no one would buy the next version.
examples:

2003.......fast really fast fast breaks.......no blocks......
2004 ........better gameplay and realistic bumps and blocks, bt pro hop was too effective......and shooting problems
2005......no fast breaks.....shooting problems with most avrage players for most people.......too many blocks for most people.....weird AI
2005......already fucked up the post, backdown button.......MORE TO COME

ofcourse i'm leaving out the good things, but that is not the point here. one or 2 flaws can fuck a game up for most people, especially for online players.

EDIT........okay SHAQ can do it, but if he couldn't do it......i wouldn't even buy the game this year.

I think the dribbling system is totally unrealistic. Freestyle is like an excuse for some really fast skating moves to slide in the paint for a dunk/blocked shot, especially the spinmove. That shit does not look like a dribble, more like ping pong balls spinning around bouncing to the rim, which may I mention is fugly.

When you use the freestyle defense (right thumbstick) and the player puts both arms up in the air to defend, did they make it more effective in 06?

I'm not sure if someone has asked this one already but how are the new crossover moves? I saw lebron in one of the vids (think high flyers) do a move behind his back that looked nice.

dude think about it...compared to 2k's isomotion..this is heaven..
