I've heard positive reviews about Zodiac too. I could've watched it in the theatres last month but my friend wanted to watch Norbit. We ended up not watching anything.

If you had gone to see Norbit instead of Zodiac because of your friend, I'd have advised you to disown your "friend".

He's one of those people who loves Eddie Murphy and Nicholas Cage, and doesn't mind watching cheesy movies. Other than that, he's pretty normal :D

I like Murphy and Cage myself, not a die hard fan, but I can stomach their cheey performances.

Murphy's Norbit is in the running with Epic Movie as worst movie ever made. It's that bad.

Dogtown and Z-boys-The documentary that inspired Lords of Dogtown is much better than hollywoodized "lords" If you're into skating at all check this out to see the origins of modern skateboarding and see a nice summation of a culture
Knocked Up-Hilarious but what do you expect from apatow and company? Go see it
Pans Labyrinth- Fucked up, good acting, incoherent story..beautiful though.
Pirates 3-Great movie, loved the first was ok with the second, and this was an excellent ending...I hope they dont make more
Shrek 3-Not as good as the first 2 but a good family flick
This Film is not yet Rated-Movie about how the MPAA works and how much bullshit it is, check it out
F**K-From the guys who brought you the aristocrats, a documentary of the F word, pretty amusing

This is really late but I have to vent after wasting money.

My commentary of Spider-Man 3: (sorry for the geekiness)

- Not to sound sexist but I find it hard to believe girls that look like models work in a physics lab. They could at least have hair nets as in most labs.

- I know Venom/Brock is a wiseass in the comics but could they have at least casted a lesser known wiseass. Eric Foreman is still Eric Foreman even in the movie. It also ruined the minimal sighting of Venom in the movie because I only think of Eric Foreman beneath the symbiote and not Venom. I also think the actor could become a Raimi favorite, he has the same attitude and wiseassness as acting god Bruce Campbell (Army of Darkness, the french guy in Spider-Man 3).

- What's with the hairdo? Is it a salute to emos? A message to emos to become aggressive? If an emo goes aggressive to me, I'll give that emo the beatdown. :x

- Kind of perplexed with the acting in the bar singing/dancing scene, then I remembered it's a Raimi movie. It has that Raimi trademark. (Y)

- If you want a romantic movie, Spider-man 3 is it. If you want to see an action movie, better go see Pirates or even Shrek 3.

My commentary on Pirates of the Carribean:

If I have to be drunk and stoned at the same time to talk and act like Jack Sparrow, then by all means I'll definitely do it. (Y)(Y)

Jack Sparrow is my God.

The total disrepsect for everything that's "the norm" is too cool. He's funny too, Tyler Durden rocks, but Jack's just too funny to not be a fan of.

Rotten Tomatoes 100 Worst Movies of all Time if anybody's interested.

The worst movie I've seen in that list is Alone in the Dark :shake: I didn't realize I watched that piece of shit movie till I noticed that Tara Reid was in it. I'm surprised Holy Man didn't make the list.

Edit: and here's Rotten Tomatoes' Best of the Best movies of all time.

Bridge To Terabithia. Good story, I liked it.

The Terabithia parts kind of bored me and made me roll my eyes, but if you watch it with an open mind, you'll like it. DVD movie though, not theatre.

And Happy Feet was OK. Next up, the new James Bond movie.

Saw pursuit of happiness last night. I wasn't expecting it to be much as I wasn't a fan of Will Smiths. But the plot was great, really inspiring. Hard to believe it was true. Will Smith was very solid in the role, dramatically changed my opinion of him. He deserves recognition for this performance.

I think the book the movie was based off would be a great read.

Ditto, but the ending is not something I expect in a 'kid' movie. I would have a hard time explaining that to a child.

Exactly, that's what I explained to some friends of mine. During the movie they said my 5-6-7 year old cousins would like it. I disagree, it's a grown up people story embodied in a child's imagination.

It isn't a kids movie, not in the least. Maybe the pieces in Terabithia where I rolled my eyes would amuse the kids, but the overall story would never be comprehended by them. It's way deeper than a movie like Narnia or something.

Maybe that's what makes it a good movie, the plot twist is the whole movie itself.
I remembered the ending again, everytime I remember it I feel sad.

watched Deja Vu with Denzel. it was one i really wanted to see but never got around to it.

it was pretty good imo, but then again I love those storylines about changing the past... funny that VAl kilmer's in the movie... that man hasn't done shit since Batman Forever. also Jim Caviezel is in the movie and he was in Frequency with Dennis Quaid. Frequency was another movie about changing lives by altering the past.

chick in it was pretty hot. looked her up in imdb and she's married to Robin Thicke.

This thread should really get some more love , no one seems to watch movies anymore . :(

As for me I watched Matchstick man today.

Liked it and Cage's performance wasn't bad either.

Next on my list is Ghost Rider. Hopefully I'll see it tonight or tomorrow .

Just got back from Ocean's 13. I liked it. It was a trillion times better than Ocean's 12 and a fitting way to bid adieu to the gang. I laughed quite a lot.

It wasn't better than 11, but it's always hard to top the first one. I like Clooney, I always have, my family on the other hand...not so much. He's cool though.

Al Pacino...man do I love this guy or what?!

That movie came out in 1997, I was merely 10 years old. I loved every minute of it.

I knew someone was going to bring it up.
