i did Cloudy, thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of adult humor, some good music allusions...and whats better than dancing penguins? Sure it gets a little preachy but hell what do ya expect?

Also saw the Pick of Destiny: nothing at all to this movie but straight tenacious D jokes similar to their HBO series. However nothing beats Meatloaf, Dio, Ben Stiller, and Dave Grohl Cameos. Check it out if ya need a time waster.

Finally saw Nacho Libre and for reasons I cannot explain I actually liked it? Actually, I loved it. I really dont know why I laughed so hard or why I was smiling so much throughout the flick....must have been something I was drinking. I get the feeling any other day I would have hated it but I was in a really giddy mood so everything was funny. Ah well, lucky Nacho.

I think that's the movie where Zhang Ziyi is prostitute and a hot one at that.
a weird romantic movie with weird things that happen.

Big Fish is a basically a "story" film. The story is told by the main character. I didn't find it weird after seeing the ending. The character just told the story of his life with in his own interpretation and creativity, even though he greatly exaggerated it.

Jackal wrote:Just came back from Casino Royale, I was pleasantly surprised. No bullshit gadgets, lots of hand to hand combat & a perfect James Bond since Sean Connery. Daniel Craig was simply the bomb.

Eva Green was elegantly/sophisticadedly gorgeous, a bit on the skinny side but nothing a few good steaks couldn't fix. The whole raccoon eyed make up, pouting lips, innocent eyes and good dose of cleavage, who could say no?

I'm actually looking forward to future Bond installments, by the way, this Bond could actually win from Jason Bourne, if he continues the way he's going.

Overall, top notch, I really enjoyed the movie. Really. It won't win any boring Oscar awards (since a lot of movies they choose are based on "realism", but if you want a good action flick with gorgeous women, eye candy in the form of cars, witty lines and double sentiment lines, this is the movie for you. :)

I thought it was completely awful. The first 45 minutes were great, the action sequences were awesome. After that it got terrible. The whole poker aspect was horrendous. Maybe its because I'm a poker player, but it was just completely not believeable at all and stupid. Then they had to try and turn it in to a love story and completely got away from all the action they had earlier.

I did love the seen with the guy from Jump Britain though, that was incredible.

I do think it has to do with being a poker player, I'm not a player so yeah, I wasn't too sceptical about the whole scene, my cousin on the other hand, shared your sentiments.

I liked the aspect of the love story being thrown in their, it was clear that it wasn't just there for the sake of it, it sort of explains why Bond sexes up most of his bitches and you never see the same chick again. Besides, Green never loved him, it was all a farce. He however, he did honestly love her.

Indeed that scene was the best of the movie, which is also reason enough to dig this Bond so much more than the previous ones, in the previous ones you'd probably see Bond with a jetpack following him through the construction site and what not, this Bond got his ass handed to him for the larger part of the chase.

^It does get a bit repetitive if you've watched the original series 800 times like I have, but I still found it enjoyable.

I just saw Silent Hill twice today, and to my liking, it now ranks as one of my scariest films of all time. The uneasiness and the bad aura I recieved throughout the 2 hours or so of the film is just topnotch.
I don't even know why a lot of critics branded it as horse shit, to me it's a classic. It made its way above the Exorcist in my scary list of movies.
Does anyone have anymore thriller/scary film you can commend?
Also I don't get easily scared :?

I watched Showdown in Little Tokyo. Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee had sooo much potential.. too bad their acting sucked monkey nuts.

Brandon Lee and his crappy one liners :shake: .

"Dude you have the biggest dick I've ever seen on a man."
"After this, we can go eat sushi off those naked chicks!"

At least the way the bad guy died was entertaining. The movie also had tits in it which made up for the bad actors.

So i just watched A Dirty Shame with Tracy Ullman Johnny Knoxville and Selma Blair. This is the first John Waters movie i've ever seen. Does anyone here like him? To me it looked like he takes what could be great satire and turns it into grossout humor....he definitely had some excellent ideas in the film, but never fully explored them....

I saw "The Crow" last week with Brandon Lee. He was pretty good in that movie, IMO. Too bad he was shot accidentally on the set, would've been interesting to see if he could've been a big movie star like his dad.

oh and other intersting note, obviously this movie is where the wrestler Sting got his inspiration for his look.

Wazzup!
I rented (28 days later) yesterday and I liked it.
It was very well directed and the emotions in that film is so real.
Anyone else liked it?
Bill Paxton is the only man to be killed by a Terminator, Predator, and an Alien, plus nearly in True Lies.

I can take on Steven S. anytime!

28 Days Later was really good, especially when they went beyond just a zombie movie by depicting human beings as monsters.

Also saw Kung Pow the other night. Funny parody; I liked the subtle humor, but nothing really made me laugh my ass off.

I'm planning on watching the entire Matrix trilogy, plus Animatrix within in the next couple of weeks.

You should have stopped at Animatrix.
The next two installments just ruined the franchise.

haha something we disagree on....

what didn't you like about the last 2? because it was not dumbed down, hollywood style?

i'm all for the Stallone-Arnold type of movies where they can never miss their targets or run out of ammunition but it was nice for a change to see an action movie with ground breaking special effects filled with a lot of religious/philosophical ideas/references

the only gripe i have about that movie is that Carrie ann moss is pretty damn nasty (or peharps the Wachowski bros. purposely casted someone that looks androgenous?)

The Matrix just gets too philosphical on your ass after the first one. The conversation with the "creator" or whatever just completely ruined it for me with his "anamoly" bull crap ranting.

I just watched Superman Returns for the first time. I was a HUGE Superman fan growing up and love the old movies, but this one I didn't really care for. (N)

Superman Returns seemed like they were trying to restart the superman series, but yet, failed miserably. Felt like it had been done before, and done better. Well other than Kevin Spacey.

Speaking of Superhero restart movies: Just rewatched batman begins. Nothing compared to Batman and Batman Returns (but i'm a burton fan). However definitely a great new beginning. I'm looking forward to the Dark Knight next year.

Also watched a Cameron Crowe flick called Singles. It was ok. Had funny moments but i think it was aimed at the generation before me and felt really dated to me. I laughed the hardest when a girl was given a ring and she gave the guy a garage door opener.

After watching the first one, I loved picking up the subtle and not-so-subtle religious and philosophical references. I haven't seen the 2nd and 3rd one in years, so I'm hoping to enjoy it because I also initially didn't enjoy it, especially the last one. However, because I couldn't pick up on what most of what was being said, having subtitles and now that I have a better philosophical sophistication, the movies will probably give me a more clear opinion.

I'm planning to watch it in that order too. I wasn't sure when to place Animatrix, but it makes sense to put it in the 2nd order. I'll probably watch it tomorrow.
