===z02 PATCHES===

Postby rise on Tue Apr 27, 2010 9:29 am

This is where I'll post all my patches, when I do them.
:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

5/11: First Patch: #s on a scoreboard. Scoreboard made by whoever did the ESPN update.
Image
Link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/h4f1z8
Installation: place the file in the xoverlay folder. WARNING: this will replace your scoreboard with the really cool looking ESPN scoreboard, so back up your scoreboard if you like yours otherwise you'll lose it.

5/11: In Season Dornas- tell me if you like them.
Link:http://www.sendspace.com/file/fgcg93
Installation: place file the xcommon folder in the render folder
Dornas are easy to edit if you have an fsh editor of some sort so create your own if you don't like mine. I just got these images off Google, so there weren't many good images. Next time I'll create my own images, but I just felt like putting this together yesterday, so I did.

Loading screens may come soon. I haven't had much time for patching recently and a lot of my stuff doesn't work. :(

EDIT: Sorry. I will soon be done with patching for now. As some may know, I'm working on a franchise, but I will make rosters for 2011. I'll try my best and see how it turns out. Peace!

They might not be placed correctly inside the render folder; CustomArt also needs to be enabled. This article might be of some use.

Jubigala:

Sorry. I think you might have misunderstood me. By player indicators, I meant the icons that say that the guy is a good blocker or three point shooter or something, but thanks what you sent is very useful. I put it in the xcommon folder. Is there anything else I must do? I don't know if my game will work right now cuz I can't run the game right now i'll see if it works tomorrow.

I'd really appreciate it

Andrew:

i already had that- now what??

Again, this article covers the basics of placing custom art files within the render folder.

This file is in the render folder called xplyricn.fsh is it supposed to go somewhere else once I edit it, because I think that it was just there before I edited it but I'm not sure.
If someone can get back to me quickly, I'd reallly appreciate it. Sorry, I'm terrible at this- i'm brand new

Oh, i see, you want the skill icons. I hadn't changed them, so that's why i assumed you wanted my player icon graphic.

This might be helpful
I found this after clicking on a link on the page you asked me to go to Andrew.
Thank you. Love the tutorials on this site. :applaud:

The one question I had was that the file I mentioned is just an fsh file loose in the render folder. Where should I put my new icons?

wow. who knew patching 32*16 images could be so frustrating?! :)

OH MY GOODNESS!!!

once again, I amazed myself at how stupid I actually am.
THAT FILE WAS NAMED WRONG!!!

It's called plyrics.fsh not xplyricn, and I think it goes in the xcommon folder. I don't even know how it got changed and moved!!
If all goes well, a patch is possible within a couple days!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Yeah, I've wanting to use that icon.

PS: Thank you so much Andrew for giving me the link to the page and having that page connect to the page where I found an amazing piece of info about .viv files!!!

No problem, glad to hear the Tutorials are useful. It's an area we need to expand upon, but hopefully now that we've opened the Wiki up to public editing we'll be able to make it an even better resource for the community, by the community. :)

Good work z02. Most of patching is common sense.. and making sure you've imported the right size image and that kind of thing.

Sorry for such a long wait. My game crashed, I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so I re-installed everything, including patches, so I basically have to start over on my patch of the skill indicators. The thing I have done, which I need to test out sometime is the shot clock display on the scoreboard. I did that today in about two minutes, but I haven't played live since last week, so I don't know how that's going to work out.
Later.

I noticed, and it's a bit odd that if you try and edit the arena graphics (like the glowing stand signs) the game crashes. Always make a backup of the file you are patching, file it somewhere and either copy it and edit that and then add it to the game file folders.

I'm editing the shot clock on the scoreboard that appears in the bottom right corner of the screen and that works.
I'm planning on making my own scoreboard. Kapei, do you have any tips on that? I'm currently playing with one of yours I think it's your old TNT scoreboard.

hmm. You should have these files:
-left (left part)
-midd (medium)
-righ (right part)
-rgh2 (one on one)
-0000
-0002
-0004
-0007
-0011 (they are for shot clock flipping)

Yes kapei, I have those files but I decided against doing a scoreboard patch for now. Maybe later.
The fact that these files need to have transparency is ticking me off. :-x
What image editor do you recommend that is not PhotoShop? I currently use paint and that's not working for me, due to the fact that there's no real way of making things transparent.
I've also downloaded a couple other patches from here just to test things out, like menu backgrounds and skill icons that I tried to do earlier.
Things are going okay for now. Might post a pic or two to show what I'm doing. Hopefully, I might get my first patch up in a few days. Kapei, do you mind if I use your scoreboard for now in my 1st patch? It's a really stupid patch, but it's my first, just to prove I've finally done something!!!

I overwrote that file by accident. Gotta start over AGAIN. Oh well, doesn't take long. Any way the nums didn't look that good.
Time To Improve.

EDIT: Man, I crossed my 50th post and I didn't even notice!

I created numbers to go with an ESPN updated scoreboard, sorry, I didn't use yours Kapei, this one went perfectly with everything.

Link posted in first post.

Uses a scoreboard in an ESPN Update. THIS IS NOT MY SCOREBOARD!!!

To install: place xscore.fsh in the render/xoverlay folder.
