Player Icons

When I play i like to use the quick icons, to pass the ball to an open reciever. When I press the L1 button it's not like the newer nba live games, where you have button icons for each player. So if you are the pg and want to pass to the C, you can press the triangle button and so on.
In this version the icons are the players name, position or number and not the face buttons of the controller.
My question is, is there a mod to change this to face button icons, like in the later nba live games, like nba live 08?
Or can you mod it yourself. If so which files should I change.
