Resolution locked

So I set up my new desktop today and decided to move a lot of my games over to this computer. One of them happens to be live 03, and whenever I go into the game I can't change the resolutions- I could once at one time briefly but the game crashed. Any ideas? I'm using my alienware x51 now.

Oh yeah, I have done that already and that works. I was just wondering if there was another solution, I did disable overrides for anti-aliasing and filters that did the trick (let me change the reso in game) but then it looked ugly (without the sharpness, I'm spoiled). Thank you for the reply.
