Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

Hello everybody,
I've been playing NBA Live 2005 for ages, and have always downloaded the newest rosterupdates. However, I'd find it awesome to make my own rosters; adjusting players ratings to my opinion, keeping rosters up to date etc. I have little experience with this kind of programming, but I think I'll manage with your help. Could you get me started with the proper software, skills, tips etc. Thanks in advance, Levente from the Netherlands

Welcome to the Forum!
Much of the roster management is done in-game; creating players, trading players, signing and releasing players to move them around. It's advisable to do as much in-game as possible, including editing ratings through Edit Player, then edit whatever you can't access from within the game via external editors.
Editing the game externally can be done via editing the databases directly using
DB Commander. I've compiled
various guides to the fields and values, as well as a
quick guide to performing common tasks through DBF editing.
HOWEVER...we now have a fantastic tool that can edit the rosters much easier:
NBA Live 08 EditorIt's also compatible with NBA Live 2005 through NBA Live 07. For beginners and experts alike, it's definitely easier and much quicker. I'd recommend giving it a look.

Another question:
I was thinking about creating the 2012 USA team (and Spain or so), but the readme file says I have to add the right .big files to my sgsm folder. How do I get/create these files, or where do I find them on the net? Will the game display the USA Bball logo and jerseys in the end, if I do things right? T.I.A !

You would need to create custom logo files, jerseys etc...basically a full set of team art. There are tutorials for that in the various Tutorials subsections of the Forum and in our Wiki.

I have a problem with the 08 Editor;
After making some changes the second time I opened the editor it gave an error message and I was unable to run the program. Maybe I've incorrectly applied the changes, or could it be something else?

You should post any issues you encounter with the editor in this thread:
