Toss up between NBA Live 2005 and NBA Live 06 really, I tend to prefer NBA Live 06 because of a few Dynasty Mode improvements that year and FSS can be a handy tool when the comeback AI kicks in and makes the game tougher. They have far fewer issues compared to NBA Live 07 and NBA Live 08, overall the PC versions of those two games were just better products than the two games that followed them.

i have a ps3 but i didnt get live 10 or 2k10 this year bec i felt that this years nba game is not worthy of my $60. both games have lots of bugs that cant be solve even after the patch. you agree with me?

I can't speak for 2K10, but I thought NBA Live 10 was better before they released the official updates. Unfortunately, its Dynasty Mode leaves something to be desired.

I'd prefer Live 2005, yes there arent some new improvements in dynasty, but gameplay there are much better than in 06. All these moves are so realistic and amazing even without freestyle superstars. The best live I've ever played.

In 2005, players just automatically spread out leaving you open to take a three point shot. That's big minus for me so my vote goes to NBA 2006.

2007 is the worst

well thats because cpu uses zone very often in 2005, thats the reason you're able to get a lot of open 3's. but thats history for me bec i was able to make the cpu play man defense all the time so now there are no more open 3's for me. :D

don`t know dieseldust if u`r right maybe original nba live 05 has that kind of minus but that`s why we have patches in live 05 and my computer play`s solid defense and i love that.. because it makes the game soo interesting.. and the thing i hate about 06 is that it dosen`t have the same dribbling animations & air collision moves.. :|
and offcourse i vote that Live 05 best PC live from EAsports.. (Y) :headbang:
lol why did EA made the game badder every year since 05.. :?: :?: :?
Live 05 the best of the best from EAsports

I still disagree that they all went downhill from there, NBA Live 06 is still one of my favourite releases in the series. NBA Live 2005 had the "catch up on the fast break" bug, NBA Live 06 had brutal comeback logic in crunch time. They both had their strengths and weaknesses but overall they were the last two quality releases on the PC platform to date. In terms of the overall product, I'd rank both above NBA Live 07 and NBA Live 08.

i remember in 06 there is this under the basket reverse layup that always goes in, in 07 and 08 there is there the reverse dunk that is almost impossible to stop so i think 2005 is the best cause it doesnt have all the cheesy moves that is in other live series.

That's not in NBA Live 2005? It's been a while since I played it. In any case, I didn't mind that layup too much in 06 for a few reasons:

1. It would miss sometimes but it is a high percentage shot in real life anyway
2. It gave the user a high percentage shot to go to when the CPU decided it was going to go ballistic with its comeback logic
3. It was much better than firing a layup into the back of the backboard

Either, I guess. As I said it's been a while since I played it regularly.

i have'nt seen an abuse with layups and dunks as i did in other series, i remember in nba live 06 i lost in a tournament cause my oppent doesnt miss a reverse layup underneath the basket and also in 07 when my friend slammed his keyboard while playing against me cause he cant stop my kobe from scoring 100pts in a 5 min quarter all from reverse dunks underneaeth the basket. :D :D :D

Fair enough. I mostly play against the CPU in Dynasty Mode so my experiences and gripes differ a little.

08 about 06? You're entitled to your opinion, but it simply has far too many issues for me to rank it above the last stable and relatively bug free game in the series. Honestly, 08 is in my view one of the absolute worst releases for the PC; the only reason I patch it is that a fair amount of people do still play it.

Can you tell me how you did that? Thanks.

NBA Live 2005 is my favorite game, for the past 2 years I've been doing full seasons at the same pace as the NBA and I can't get enough of it. First season playing with the Lakers I lost to the Celtics in the Finals. I still remember the last game. Last season I played with the Suns and I won it versus the Cavs in the Finals. This year I'm playing with New Orleans. 5th seed in the West right now.

There are too many steals and blocks in the game but I think that players would not take some those shots that in real life. And I get too many blocks on defense, cause the COM PG takes too many shots. I remember one game I played long ago against a Cavaliers team with Eric Snow at PG. I left him open all the time at let him shoot or when he took it to the basket I would block it. He scored 40 something points(cause he missed a lot since he had a low field goal value) but I won by 50. Also players like Dirk Nowitski take few shots, changing the primacy ratings works for players that handle the ball like Wade, Kobe or James (although I have to put the primacy level of the other starters at very low values like 0-30) but for Nowitski he sometimes ends up with fewer shots than Jason Kidd. Also I change the primacy levels and they change back for some reason and that's annoying.

There are less assists than in the NBA but the other stats are great. I'm averaging 22 and 9.4 assists with Chris Paul. In the original Live 2005 players never made a layup off the glass but I got that solved with an AIACT's that you guys made for which I thank again.

There is of course that end of game situation thing that I already discussed here
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=68947
and
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=66938

but I guess I'll have to live with it.
