Difference between cpu assistance off and on?

Postby Leander on Wed May 07, 2008 10:36 pm

What is the difference? I play without cpu assistance but still it seems to be on. If "off" looks like cpu assistance how strange will be "on" then?

Example 1: I shoot over 60%. The computer has to catch up so I miss and he makes his shots. Result: a close game in the end.

Example 2: I miss all my shots. No matter what I do I keep missing, e.g. going 0 - 12 from threepoint-line with 10 wide open attempts with players with the 3P-icon. I am behind by more than 20...still I suddenly have a blowout in the fourth quarter and hit everthing. Result: a close game in the end.

And YES, cpu assistance is OFF.

It is quite boring when players cannot have a certain rhythm throughout the game. They either ALL miss shots or ALL make their shots, regardless of their ratings.

CPU Assistance helps the user keep the score close as well. When it's off, only the CPU will benefit from the occasional superhuman boost to keep the game challenging.

No worries. I prefer to play with it off since on the harder difficulty settings you're already contending with the CPU's comeback logic without ensuring they'll be able to keep the scores close.
