Andrew's rosters and pink heads

Postby daflyboys on Sat May 26, 2007 2:25 am

OK, I'm not getting this. I'm trying to follow the install instructions and use lookvod's Real Shoe Patch V 5.0. The Shoe patch install screen shows up in gibberish characters. I also don't understand how that's going to help with the pink heads for Andrew's rosters. Anyone have any clues for an NBA simpleton/newbie?

The pink heads are a result of missing face patches. The easiest method of resolving the problem is to make a note of which players are missing faces - ie. have pink heads - and then download face patches for them. Once those face files are placed in the sgsm folder (by default C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2005\sgsm), the problem will be resolved.

ok....thx, Andrew. Sorry for being so dense about this in the e-mail communiques. So for someone that there is no face patch available, there are no "generic" faces like there are for MVP2005?

No apologies necessary. :) There's no generic faces available in NBA Live 2005 although you could always change them back to being created players and then edit their appearance in-game.

You'd need to change a player's ISCREATED field to True in players.dbf (use DB Commander to edit the files) and assign him the next available FACEID value in appearance.dbf. Players who use a cyberface or cyberface patch will have -1 in this field, assigning a number will allow you to specify a created appearance (which will be stored in faces.dbf).

Andrew just tell him to . . .

wait i'll tell him there is an easy way man. . . just search for frenchy's sgsm folder here in the forums and download it that would leave around 4-5 pink heads with the regular teams and 5-7 players with pink heads in the 90's all-stars.

Also when you d/l the sgsm the pink heads for the 4-5 players just need renaming for they are already in the sgsm.

As I said before, if a player's face is pink it's an indication that a face file is missing. The easiest solution is use a face patch for the appropriate player.

Search the NBA Live 2005 Announcements section of the Forum for one that's been released.

Searching for frenchy's sgsm folder produces 600+ results. Any suggestions?

yep, i did, but i can't find the file with matt bonner on it.
i mean i downloaded those files, but in sgsm, i can't find the name of matt bonner

btw, after updating, for certain games, before i enter the game, the game quit itself, saying there's problem on it. what's happening?
that only applies to new roster, is there any problems with new roster??

You'll have to direct that one to Shannon, I didn't make the conversion for NBA Live 2005. As far as I know there's no database issues though.

No database problems. It's almost definately a problem with a patch used fro one of the teams/players in the game you were about to play, eg. jersey that causes crash, headshape, stadium files, etc.

The problem with having such a new roster for an almost 3 year olf game is that you need so much art to cover the holes. Too much in the SGSM puts alot of stress on the game and it's hard to find a patch causing a problem if you have thousands upon thousands of files in your SGSM folder. It's a trial and error thing, but there's definately nothing wrong with the roster.

Pink heads? You need to download those players cyberfaces. You can get 07 ones and use the tutorial on converting them in the patching section.

No. You need to download cyberfaces from 07 announcements (because no one is making missing players for 05), then convert them to be able to use them in Live 2005 by using this tutorial: http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic47326.php
