can run live 07 perfectly, but 05 gets slow and choppy

hey guys, i recently bought a new computer last christmas, here are my specs:

intel core 2 cpu 6300 @ 1.86GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 7600GT

i bought live 07 and played it at max settings, with AA4x and AF4x on and it ran perfectly, even with numerous patches. i unistalled it after a month though, since i didnt like it

so recently i bought live 05, and logically one would think it will run perfectly also, but im experiencing a lot of choppiness/slowness?/lags during the game, even during 1v1 and practice mode. i played around with the settings, even put everything at low, but the problem still existed. any help? thanks!

btw, i can also play company of heroes at max settings without any problems

Try running the game with only one CPU core.

Start the game up, alt tab to Windows, bring up the task menu (CTRL+ALT+DEL), right click nbalive2005.exe in processes, choose Set Affinity, uncheck CPU 1 and leave CPU 0 checked. Then go back to the game.

I've also got an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU setup. I haven't had any trouble with NBA Live 2005 stuttering, but NHL 2007 did stutter horribly and doing this fixed it for me.

thanks for the reply EMan, but it didn't work for me :(

actually i might have exaggerated the problem, the game isn't really slow, meaning that the players move alright. it's when the camera moves/pans from left to right and zooms in and out that the "lagging" occurs - the camera doesn't seem to move/pan as smooth as it did in live 07. it happens quite a bit every now and then, but not everytime. and it isn't horrible by any means though, and its still playable, so i guess i'll just live with it

thanks anyway! (Y)
