dunk modifier

I still dont udnerstand the dunk modifier and how to change a dunk. I'm holding onto the modifier but the dunks are the same. When I try to gather, then press dunk and then another dunk button, it just does the first button's dunk cuz i let go of it.

Anyone explain to me how to actually use the modifier? thanks
