this game only wors when it wants to. it worked yesterday, then this morning when i went to play this morning, it started and then the screen went black and took me back to my desktop. sometimes this game works and other times it doesnt. i think it has to do with my drivers, which ones are best, i have an nvidia card.

I've got the same video card with a worst PC (256 mb RAM, AMD Athlon XP 2.08 Ghz) and it works perfectly. Try updating the drivers for the video card...
