starting game prob - please help!

hi guys, i'm new here as i bought the game yesterday
when i start the game, carmelo picture appears but then the screen goes black and throws me out. i use windows millenium edition, can anyone help me out on this? thanks a lot...
here are my pc specs - the game was bought legally in a store, no copyware! i have the same problem with nba 2003 which is weird, as all the new versions of ea's nhl series work fine.
directx 9.0 has been installed and new drivers have also been installed :?

i'm not a fan of WinME at all, but it should be able to run the game. try installing older graphic drivers, get them from guru3d or google for omega drivers.

try go to "technical support" (start-programs-EA sports- nba live 2005-technical support)

winME is the worst version of windows ever released. its like a beta version of windows xp.
if it isnt much of a hassle with you i suggest you upgrade your OS into XP or lower it back to 98se.
the ME version have a lot of issues running programs properly my friend
