Jordan and Erving perform the exact same dunk all the time!!

Jordan and Erving perform the exact same dunk all the time!!

Postby Jinian on Sun Jun 12, 2005 4:10 am

I don't if i am the only one experiencing this, but it really seems to me that the players who have a dunkpack value of 16(Air Jordan/Erving dunks, all dunks) just happen to dunk the exact same high flying, one handed body thrust dunk. They never dunk in any other way unless they are on a fast break and they have all this free space to perform, or i am in practice mode. Has anyone who has experienced this find a workaround to knock some sense into the game?

If there is no way to fix this, i'd like anyone's advice on what to give 80's MJ a dunkpack value other than 16.

Thanks.

Well it's all a matter of how you move before doing the dunk. From what angle you are coming from, how fast you are running, how close to the basket you are when pushing the button; it all matters...

From my experience those dunks you are talking about, most often are made when you are coming straight towards the basket and push the button rather far away.
I suggest you go in to practice again and try variation all the things i said in the start (angle, speed, distance); I'm sure you'll see more of a variation... (y)

I said in practice mode i can perform various dunks with Air Jordan or Julius Erving. And that's all good, but when i play a 5 on 5 exhibition, Jordan and Erving don't perform any different dunks other than the one hand high flying body thrust dunk, and it doesn't matter where i jump from or how far away. It is only an exception in which they do perform other dunks if i am on a fast break and i have plenty of space between me and the rim. Try it yourself, use Erving if you don't have jordan installed.

I don't know why you guys seem to think it's a skill issue, cause it's not. It's a technical issue in the game that needs correction that EA just never recognized.

Can anyone just recommend me another dunkpack value that the next closest thing to an Air Jordan/Erving style dunks. Thanks

It's not a bug - the dunks have been toned down so the highlight reel dunks are performed less often.
