[[ Zach's 2005 Draft Pack. 63 Cyberfaces and Portraits! ]]

Wed May 04, 2005 9:09 pm

Hey guys. I am back with my latest patch (with help from friends). It is a 2005 Rookie Draft Pack. It includes an astonishing 63 cyberfaces and player portraits for all the upcoming rookies projected in draft.

All draft projections are based on that of http://www.nbadraft.net

A list of who did what face can be found here.

I myself did around 35 faces.

Previews can be found at the following locations.

http://sportastical.nbafiles.com/Previe ... epack4.jpg
http://sportastical.nbafiles.com/Previe ... epack5.jpg

Download it here.

Winrar will extract this file. http://www.rarlab.com

For now add the players to the free agent list of a roster. Extract the files to add the draftees to a roster to the respective roster folder you want to add them to. Then run adddraftees.bat and then run appearanceupdate.bat. Note that all players will have 0's in all the ratings until I complete them.

Find those files here.

Sometime soon I will be releasing an add-on that will add the players to your dynasty draft. Each player will have accurate appearance, bio info, and ratings.

I plan to try and update the graphics every so often. Expect Louis Williams, Monta Ellis, and Dijon Thompson updates soon.

A big thanks to everyone involved in the cyberface creation.

Man, this is some great stuff, personally I don't use these patches in my dynasty (yet), but this project got me thinking to continue with another season of dynasty when this one's over. Props to all the patchers that worked on this! (Y)

Great patch! It's amazing, and the quality is top notch too.

Okay, I have noticed only one missing file so far: Donell Taylor's portrait seems to be missing.

Can you fix it?

Thanks for the hard work!

Thu May 05, 2005 3:28 am

do we extract this to the ssgm?

Thu May 05, 2005 3:29 am

sgsm? yes!

Thu May 05, 2005 3:33 am

Right, sgsm. Thanks

BTW, what if I already extracted to the sgsm another draft patch (ryan's). His, I am having problems with (freezes at Training Camp sim) so if i installed this one, will they conflict in the sgsm?

Well I didn't have any problem installing it over ryan's patch. Ryan's patch is only about the draftees' ratings I believe - but the version that you used could include Misow's cyberfaces for the draftees. That's the version that I used.

So basically if you install this patch (which only deals with draftees' cyberfaces), it will overwrite all previously installed draftees' cyberfaces in the sgsm folder, thus overwriting Misow's faces. It's up to you to determine which faces you like best from Misow and want to keep. I recommend you copy the corresponding files from the sgsm folder into a temporary folder, then install Zach's patch, then copy Misow's cyberface files back into sgsm.

The only conflict that it can cause is that on a couple of players, the body color as determined by ryan is slightly different than that of the cyberfaces in Zach's patch, so you will have to do some minor DBF editing to correct it. Other than that, it should be all good.

As far as the training camp issue... I don't know about it, I haven't tried that. Let me know if you need more info, I'm gonna try to find what players I had to edit to make their body color match their cyberface...

Thu May 05, 2005 4:50 am

If you install this patch over ryan_giggs' and Misow's previous patch, you will need to do some DBF editing for the body color of the following players, so that their color match that of their new cyberface:

Deron Williams - body color (lighter)
Webster - DBF edit to install the cyberface and define the player as non-created + edit his body color
Felton - possibly edit his body color
McCants - body color (one notch lighter)
Petro - possibly body color (very dark)
Garcia - body color (make him very light skin so that matches his cyberface)
Gelabale - body color (lighter, color 2 I think)
Robinson - body color (darker)
Rivera - DBF edit to install the cyberface and define the player as non-created
Head - body color (one notch darker)
Mensah-Bonsu - DBF edit to install the cyberface and define the player as non-created
Azubuike - DBF edit to install the cyberface and define the player as non-created
Elder - DBF edit to install the cyberface and define the player as non-created + body color (one notch darker I think)
Taylor - DBF edit to install the cyberface and define the player as non-created
Maxiell - DBF edit to install the cyberface and define the player as non-created
Troutman - DBF edit to install the cyberface and define the player as non-created

That's it, I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. I hope that helps!

So if this patch is just cyberfaces and potraits, I cant actually use the players like Ryan's right?

He has all the players in the FA pool on his first version, then the players to their suggested teams in ver. 2.

Absolutely. That's what I did. Basically, you will still have all the players in the FA pool, only their cyberfaces will change. I'm assuming the version you have uses Misow's cyberfaces, but after you install Zach's patch, it will have new cyberfaces. The players won't go anywhere though, they will still be in the FA pool (if you use v.1 of ryan's patch).

Great patch (Y) It's nice to see 2 Lithuanians here :D
Actually i don't know why NBA scouts think that Andriuskevicius is promising

But his Ver 2 (which I installed) already puts players on their teams. So your saying this patch will just replace the faces+portraits of ryan's patch?

Im very confused. Im new with patching so bare with me.

If I were to just install this patch, forget ryan's and miscows, what would happen? Would I have all the draft players ready to use, with faces and portraits, on their respective teams according to NBAdraft.com?

Because I would rather uninstall the game and fresh install with this patch, because ryan's patch doesnt work for me.

All im looking for is:

Up to date Rosters
Draft Class, with portraits and cyberfaces

Now if they were available in the draft at season end, that would rock. But I guess other then that, Id want them already on their teams.

Problem with that is, see if I was the Raptors, I wouldnt want to play with my new draft pick with guys like Doneyll Marshall who wont be part of the team next year.

ID APPRECIATE ANY HELP, AND THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE. :)

Zach's patch ONLY installs cyberfaces. To be able to install cyberfaces on a group of players, you first need to create those players in NBA Live. That is, if say, you haven't installed any other patch and install this patch, it will NOT do anything because the players it is supposed to patch are not in the game.

That is why you NEED ryan's patch. Ryan's patch creates and installs the draftees in the game. So you need to install that patch first, only to have the draftees into your game (in the FA pool or in their projected teams, depending on the version you choose). Then you have the option to install Zach's Draft Patch which will give cyberfaces to those draftees.

In any case, if you want to be able to play with the projected draftees, you NEED Ryan's patch. Which version is up to you. Then you can (but you don't have to) download and install Zach's patch to give cyberfaces to these players and make them look better than their generic faces.

I hope this clarifies everything. Please PM me if you have more questions, I'll try to help you out.

Awesome, I get it now.

Now I just have to get Ryan's patch to work. While im here, I might as well post my problem.

Basically, I got the patch plus his cyberfaces etc ... Everything works fine, and looks good. However, when I create a Dynasty, it first asks how you want to go about Training Camp. Well, it doesnt matter what I choose, it sims the games (I can see it go 1 by 1), when it finishes them all, theres a slight pause, then it just goes to my desktop. :x

Also note, Dynasty's work perfect when this patch is not loaded.

Thu May 05, 2005 7:49 am

I updated the draft pack to now include Donell Taylor's portrait (previously missing) and I uploaded 2 bat files. One to add the players to a roster in the free agent list (not a dynasty addon yet) and one to update their appearances.

It can be found here.

Unzip all the files to whatever roster you want them to be added to. Then run adddraftees.bat, and after thatn run appearanceupdate.bat. Note that these players will have all 0's in ratings until I complete that bat. Ok, thanks.

Great work, will really be eagerly awaiting for that dynasty add on.

Thu May 05, 2005 9:17 am

Excellent work, I can't awit for the add-on either.

Thu May 05, 2005 10:04 am

Yes, the dynasty add-on should be the epitome of this patching effort... You just don't know how much this is going to help us dynasters... probably save us 2 days' worth of DBF editing... (Y)

Tue May 10, 2005 3:40 am

The dynasty add-on will/should be the most appriciated patch this year. I really, really hope there is a way to make it work.

I though I could make one myself using the same idea as the .bat for Seraph's accurate shoe-patch. But alas, no. All I get is crashes.
