How exactly do you make custom jerseys?

Sat Apr 09, 2005 6:39 am

I have the jersey templates, but I want to know is there a way to make then so you can see the ripples and wrinkles in the jersey. I used a brush to paint over it (photoshop), but it still looked cartoonish. Even changing the opacity didn't make it lok good. Can anyone help?

Try using different layer-effects for the layer that you have the colour on. Something like 'Screen' or 'Colour' could do the trick...

Set the texture layer to multiply OR use two texture layers with the top layer set to multiply and the bottom set to overlay. Below these layers create your base paint color, this is the main jersey/shorts color. Above the base layer add the trim colors around the neck and arms and any on the shorts. Adjust the multiply/overlay layers as necessary. For very dark uniforms you may need to set the multiply layer to a different type OR create another layer and set it to 'soft light'. I use PSP9 so the name may differ.
