I like the Bobcats for their cap, you can just sim the first year and make a good team of free agents.

the problem if u sim the first season ist that thare are not good players with expiring contracts, u would have to wait to nthe second season, in the first just these players: hughes, wells, swift, van exel, well, players like, gasol, t.parker, d.marshall, j.richardson, also finish their contract int he first season but they always resign

Chicago is not bad if you wait a year and can unload some serious crap contracts like Antonio Davis for $14 million. Chicago players trade well because they're young and very cheap.

On some of these teams with stars it's impossible to trade because of the price. Try trading Penny Hardaway making $14 million :P

Of course, the Bobcats are a good place to dump contracts, if you don't mind taking a lesser player in return.

The Bulls are a great dynasty team. Lots of young players with low salaries. After the first season, you can re-sign Tyson and Eddy long-term. They will develop nicely along with Deng, Gordon and Hinrich. The following season Davis' massive contract will come off the books and you'll have money to sign a couple of top-tier free agents. That should be enough to keep you contending for the title for years to come.

After my first season, I re-signed Tyson and Eddy to relatively cheap long-term contracts, re-signed Duhon, Harrington and Reiner to one-year deals, and signed Bobby Simmons to a five year deal and Kyle Korver to a one-year deal. Plus I drafted a decent guard with the 19th pick in the draft. I'm looking forward to next offseason when guys like Yao and Amare become free-agents. Although, they will probably be re-signed before I even get a chance to bid on them...

I'm not a fan of the Bobcats, they have cap but they don't have any trade bait except Okafor who you'll probably want to keep.

The Free Agent pool isn't that great (and Alonzo is not a 70), it's not like that year with Eddie Jones and Tracy McGrady and Tim Duncan.

In addition to Chicago, i was surprised by how good Memphis looks. Pau Gasol, Mike Miller, J-Will, Battier, Bonzi, Stromile Swift...this team is already has strong defense and outside scoring and a penetrating playmaker.

maybe Phoenix??? but i forgot what their cap is at...

Seattle is great. They have a lot of expiring contracts and can be competitive in year 1.

After trades my starting 5 was:

C Chandler
PF Brand
SF Hill
SG Giricek
PG Hinrich

I started with the Raps and by the end of the first season, i was able to free up 35mil just by trading over paid players(but still have ok rating) with players that have huge salary, low rating, and expiring contracts. Such as Penny, D.Staudamire, Fortson, Z, and a lot of other players. Make sure you add some players, bad ones, to the trades so that it makes the cpu think it is to their advantage. I also traded Jalen Rose to the Bobcats, for Brevin Knight, that got rid of out about 13-14 mil instantly. :D
