How to achieve quadruple double?

Sun Mar 13, 2005 2:35 pm

I was curious about doing this task.. how to do a quadruple double?

Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:06 pm

If you mean what it is then I'll tell you. It's achieving a 10+ of four different statistical categories. It is like a triple-double, but with an extra 10+ stat. ie. getting 10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals.

If you already knew that and want to know how to get it in the game. I'll tell you that too. Hard work.

get 10 blocks instead of 10 steals.. it's easier..

Not if you're Earl Boykins :P

has anyone on this forum ever gotten a quadruple-double? (on all star or superstar, not rookie)

ive never gotten a triple double yet

Sun Mar 13, 2005 5:50 pm

OK. I got the idea. Looks like very hard to get it. Anybody has tips?

Sun Mar 13, 2005 5:51 pm

it's easy... if you control just one player.
it'll be harder if you control all of them.

I think Mikki or someone posted a screenshot of a LeBron quadruple-double... I've come close a few times but it's nearly impossible for me to finish it off. That being said, I also scored 50 points with Jonathan Bender on superstar in a play off game... Live '05 is weird.

It was me indeed. Right now I've experienced like 8+ Quad-Doubles in my 3rd year on my 82-game dynasty. Here's the Screen.

Here's a quick Guide:

1. Get J-Kidd as a PG in your team(or just grab the Nets)
2. Play 12 mins qtr
3. Either lock on PG or always switch to Kidd on defense
4. 10 Points: It's easy, just drive it or pass the ball around until you get an open shot
5. Assists: Same, just drive with the PG, command a DT and pass to the open man.
6. Rebounds: Play zonal Defense and when the shot goes up, swithch to J-Kidd and go for the defensive rebound.
7. Steals: Just try to get in the way of every inbound pass. This one's tricky and not always guaranteed.

ok, i made a couple of quadruple doubles in my dynasty so far... on superstar with 7 mion Qs.

i always had it with Vince, but i made some defense traing sessions so that he had a steal rating of about 77.

on offense i try to get about 6 assists in the first half (e.g. via alley-oop, pick&roll or simple double pass)
on defense i try to get the steal (works best if u use a gamepad with 2 control sticks and try to steal away the ball, higher chance when (a big guy) gets a pass or when u double team)
if he gets of the shot try at least that he misses, use the boxout of the cpu controlled center and pf and get the rebound
points in double figures shouldn't be a problem with a player like Vince

i think another good player to get a quadruple double is Kobe or even Ben Wallace

with Wallace i could try the next level... a quintuple double. no man did this before in a regular match.
this could be done with wallace because he can rebound, block and steal the ball (passing and shooting can do everybody)

this is my next task ^^

try and get a double-triple-double (at least 20 in 3 categorys)

i believe wilt chamberlin did it before

i did quad+extra more double.. in rookie mode..
playin 5 mins a quarter

The easiest person to quad double for me is Andrei Kirilenko. He's got 90+ block 60+ steal, the only hard part is the 10 assists but if you hog the ball with him it will come.

Wed Mar 16, 2005 5:23 pm

if you hog the ball with him? he will get assist?
isn't ballhogging like selfishness and not passing?

anyways andrei is a good candidate.just dribble penetrate and dish out or do a drop pass...that will rack the assist up:lol:

I got a quadruble-double with Marcus Camby in an all-star game. Blocks, assists, point, rebounds. I was close to getting Quintriple, I had I think 7 steals. Anyway he is a good guy to get a quintriple-double with. And yeah it was on all-star I think (this is a while ago, I play superstar now).

Ballhogging is having the ball in your hands for most of the game. When you deal out assists, the ball is in the other player's hands for only a few seconds. If he holds the ball too long, it's not an assist for you.

Example, the early Jordan was a total ball hog. He would drive, if he had the lane he would dunk or layup, if he had space he would take a jumper. If he didn't have either, he would pass out an open man. The last option would give him an assist but Jordan still had the ball for almost the entire game.

He was infamous for getting pissed if he threw a teammate a pass and that teammate didn't score.

ok thanks for the term info........i would get pissed to if my team mate miss the shot i work hard to pass.....you know like driving between 3 guys being hack and slap finally a kick out then boink ........the guy missed.....but since we are a team i'd be considerate enough.......

if Mj was my team mate i'll practice shooting..who knows he might get 6 assist for ditching the ball to me :D
