Sun Feb 27, 2005 6:52 pm

Andrew wrote:With All-Star Weekend and the trade deadline now behind us, I've released a new version of the current roster update that includes all of the deadline deals, the latest lineups and some updates to the All-Star, Rookie and Sophomore teams. Download the PC update here, or grab the text version of the update here.

New in v1.08:
- 2004/2005 Rosters updated through February 26th, 2005
- All deadline trades included
- Player ratings updated
- Positions updated for better substitution patterns
- 2005 East and West All-Star Teams' lineups updated
- 2005 Rookie and Sophomore Teams' lineups updated

I've also (hopefully) fixed the problem with gear and shoes remaining locked when you use the roster patch. Please let me know if you're still having problems with that.

Why G.Wallace and Boozer are 12th man of their teams in uninjured file?

Sun Feb 27, 2005 8:24 pm

Oversight. Sorry about that.

Edit: Just re-released v1.08 with a small correction to the Uninjured version - everything in the regular version remains unchanged from the file I uploaded a couple of hours ago.

Why B.Grant in Lakers is C.That he isn't PF??There are many of this bugs. And in my opinion Vlade is too weak :?:

Nice job, Andrew. I'm going to check these out later today. Did you only edit a select few players or did you go through and edit more than usual? I'm asking because when I do my console updates, instead of going through each individal player and comparing my ratings with yours, I usually only go and edit players whose 'overall' rating has changed. I know I probably won't get every player rating changed you did, but it's the best I can do.

Oh, and any chance we'll see CAP's for us console users next update? :P

90's has some ratings` problems, I think.
Change Barkley`s jump to 90`s, strength to 80`s and speed to 70`s.
Change Hill`s jump to 70`s, OA and DA to 80`s.
Change Ewing`s speed and jump to 50`s.
Change PIP`s jump to 80`s.
Change MJ`s 3PT to 60`s.
These changes seem to be reasonable.

Mon Feb 28, 2005 7:59 am

What MJ are we talking about?

Jordan's hit the 3 at 30%+. 60 is too low. Early in his career Jordan wasn't much of a 3 pt shooter, but during the glory years he was good.

Great update as always Andrew!!

I thought that Mikki was doing the Teamgear.dbf but in the install you say "Thanks to Refuze" for those files... :P

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE change Detroit's away acc. color to red.

First of all, those aren't "bugs" - bugs are technical faults. The reason I have Grant as a centre is because Vlade is injured and the Lakers don't have another centre on the roster apart from Mihm. Grant has been playing centre the last few years in Miami and still spends time there for Los Angeles.

There are a few similar cases where I've changed player's positions to the ones they tend to be spending more time at this season. If there are any glaring errors, feel free to point them out.

Refuze submitted the original teamgear update, which has since been replaced by Mikki's update (which was updated as of a few weeks later).

Damn, I knew there was something I'd forgotten. I'll have to write them up before the next update in case I don't have time the day I release the next version.

hm. the download site seems to be down. anyone mind pm'ing it to me or something?

A couple of suggestions:

You have J. Mashburn as a 12th man on the 76ers - you should probably stick him on the IR as I doubt he'll play this year or ever again for that matter.

You have A. Iguodala's 3-point rating at 48, it could probably use a little boost to say a low-50 or so. No big deal really.

I'll probably post a few more suggestions when I go and update my rosters later this week. Great job though.

nice patch as usual

Must have been some temporary downtime or a problem at your end - just checked the link and it should be working fine.

That's what I'll probably do in the next update. I only had him as the 12th man as technically, the Sixers did have him on the active roster just after the trade. Just waiting to see who he replaces on the IR - I might have to place one of the injured guys who should be back in the 12th spot.

Great update as always ! :)

Some suggestions for the next one:

- Gerald Wallace
Averages 1.29 bpg, rated only 21... should be in the mid-30s

- Boris Diaw
Good dunker (only 20 in 1.08) with several wins in dunk contest in his pre-NBA career. Maybe not good enough to be eligible in a NBA Slam Dunk Consest, so I think a 60 in dunk is appropriate for him

- Primoz Brezec
FT should go up (71.5%, currently 60)
Block a little down... 0.69 blk in 30min is pretty low for a 7-1 player

Wed Mar 02, 2005 10:01 am

Another suggestion:

I don't know if you remember this but in your v1.06 or v1.07 post someone gave a suggestion about increasing the shooting range for various PF/C's. Any chance you'll still do some of those?

Wed Mar 02, 2005 11:48 am

Yeah, I changed a whole bunch of shooting range values in v1.08 as suggested. If you have any more, just let me know. :)

Wed Mar 02, 2005 3:03 pm

Will do, Andrew. I also remember you saying that you were thinking of going through all the teams, players again (at some point) and maybe looking over most of the ratings? Is that still on the agenda?

Wed Mar 02, 2005 3:44 pm

random thing i noticed while looking through ratings... josh childress isn't insanely fast and quick... (he's an 80 at quickness and 75 at speed as is)... to give you an example... he's rated quicker than gilbert arenas (79 at quickness) and arenas is considered one of the quickest players in the league... childress was bashed on coming out of the combines for being slower in the quickness drills than most big men

Wed Mar 02, 2005 5:05 pm

Hi Andrew,

One thing I've noticed is that Andre Iguodala's steal rating might be higher, like 70s.
Because he is currently rank #7(1.78) in steal standing of league while #8 Manu Ginobili has 88 as steal with 1.7 steals per game.

Thanks for such a great work as usual! (Y)

Sometime, when I have more time and energy.

In the meantime, thanks for the latest suggestions. (Y)

Wed Mar 02, 2005 7:19 pm

Increase Parker's steal ability, he becomes a pretty good stealer, 70 would be good. (Y) Oh, and why not his dunk ability too ? 5 is pretty weak, I remember his dunk against Houston... Why not 10 ? :P

Thu Mar 03, 2005 3:29 am

Great suggestions Templar, you're right in all of them. (Y)

Thu Mar 03, 2005 8:56 am

- Nenad Krstic

Has an interesting offensive game, InsideSc and OffAw should go up... FT up too (from 50 to 71)
With only 25, his jumping needs a significant boost, he currently has the same rating as Bradley or Ostertag...
