Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

Installed the game today and the game played.....well not smoothly.
I can run the game on everything maxed out at all resolutions with the about the same FPS. Turning down everything to the lowest doesn't seem to help that much. We are talking about FPS around 20-30. I was hoping for at least 30-40+ in FPS. Any ideas ?
AMD 2800 Barton
1gb ram
Asus x800xt platinum ed.
Audigy 2

Ok done a few tests using FRAPS. I get a constant FPS of 50, and i mean CONSTANT. Won't move anywhere. Almost as if it was locked at 50. This is in 1024*768 with Maximum detail setting. Ok so thats good. But the problem is that the game sort of stutters like it was running in the low 20's. No fluid animations at all. In replays the animations are superfluid like they're supposed to be. I was hoping for the same kind of performance as in NBA Live 2005 on the Xbox (Without the strange hickups around midcourt).
Anyone know what the problem might be ?
All the latest driver except Catalyst wich is version 5.1
edit: I can run the game in 1024*768 with Max detail and Antialiasing and Anostropic at max and the FPS won't move from the 50 mark.

Looks like the typical v-sync problem to me:
disable v-sync from within the game or in your ati drivers.
Or try a combination of enabling v-sync and triple buffering which SHOULD work but doesn't for me.
In my case I have to disable v-sync or else my framerates are always cut in half.
Or to test for sure if it's v-sync and not anything else..change your refresh rate override in the ati drivers to 85hz..and see if your framerates top out at 43 constantly with fraps. Then try changing your refresh rate override to 100hz and see if it's constantly at 50 now. If it does then it's v-sync for sure.
