Trying to add Custom Team through DBF Editing...

Fri Feb 18, 2005 5:11 pm

I've followed the DBF Custom Team adding guide to a T. Here's the problem. I've named my team 'Dream Team'. I've filled in all the fields that need to be filled in. When I start NBA Live 2005 up and load the right roster files, I look through all the teams to see if my new team is there. There is no 'Dream Team'. There is, however, a second Detroit Pistons team. The first Detroit Pistons team is the normal Pistons team. The second one is a team called the Detroit Pistons, with no players on it(even though I changed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's TEAM field data to match the team I created). I thought maybe I had assigned a TEAMNUM that was already taken by the Pistons, but that is not the case either.

Anyone have any ideas?

Can anybody help me? The 2004 Custom Team adding guide said all you had to do was use DB Commander to edit the DBF team.dbf, players.dbf files. I've done this and my team isn't there, but a second, BLANK, Detroit Pistons team is there. I've yet to see any 2005 Custom Team adding guide. *is confused*

Have you given the new custom team its own unique ID number? Does it share any values with the Detroit Pistons' entry in teams.dbf?

I thought that would be a reason, but no, it has its own unique ID number. I've tried it three or four times, and all but one time I chose unique IDs that were higher than the highest ID that was assigned to anything in the original teams.dbf file. The first time it was 55, and I got a second blank Detroit Pistons team. The second time it was 46(46-49 in teams.dbf aren't assigned to anything for some reason) and I got a second blank Indiana Pacers team. The third time it was 80 and the fourth time it was 150, and both of those times I got a second blank Atlanta Hawks team. I don't see any rhyme or reason with this. I would greatly appreciate any help you(or anyone) can give me.

Does anyone have ANY idea why I'm experiencing this problem?
