v1.07 released...

Postby Andrew on Thu Feb 17, 2005 9:48 pm

The main support thread for the latest version. The details...

I've released v1.07 of the current roster update for NBA Live 2005, which consists of the usual transaction and lineup updates as well as the teams that will compete at this year's All-Star Weekend in Denver. As always, you can find the update here.

New in v1.07:
- 2004/2005 Rosters updated through February 16th, 2005
- Player ratings updated
- Positions updated for better substitution patterns
- Some player data corrected
- 2005 East and West All-Star Teams
- 2005 Rookie and Sophomore Teams

Furthermore, you can download a text version of this roster update with raw player data (ideal for console users) here. I still haven't added CAPs to the text update, I'll try to get them in the next version.

I might have missed a couple of things. Most of the individual player updates were ones suggested in the forum. I'll probably have to go through each player again when I have the time to make some more fixes here and there, based on the most up to date performance.

Still working on the shoe issue, hopefully I'll get that fixed for the next version. My apologies for the continued inconvenience.

Thanks a lot, Andrew!

I've done all your player updates up until v1.06 for the PS2 and after I do v1.07 I could see about sending you a Sharkport file with all the updates.

I do have a Sharkport and I'll try and update my PS2 rosters later tonight. But whenever I get around to it, either tonight or tomorrow night, I'll e-mail you.

I've only just released v1.07! But yes, v1.08 will come sometime after the trade deadline. Not necessarily the day after! Sometime after the trade deadline, when I've got the time to work on and release an update.

Thanks for the patch!

I know I've been somewhat high on Bostjan Nacbar in the past , but his play in NO has shown that he definitely deserves a rating boost. In 4 less minutes, he's hitting 0.6 less 3's (that's a lot for an entire season) than his teammate Casey Jacobsen while shooting an entire 7% higher, at 37.8%. He's shooting a wonderful 50% on all his jump shots. I would say 76 and 76 for both FG and 3 pt, lower inside scoring to 41 (he's a jump shooter), and up DAware to 44 (he's a bad defender, but not that bad).

This is very important...the following people need a shooting range of 16 ft: Chris Kaman, Elton Brand, Nazr Mohammed, Mike Sweetney, Tony Battie, Kelvin Cato, Corliss Williamson, Marc Jackson, Theo Ratliff, Zach Randolph, Rasho Nesterovic, Aaron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Jarron Collins, Mark Blount, Primo Brezec, Emeka Okafor, Eddy Curry, Othella Harrington, Antonio Davis, Alan Henderson, Antonio McDyess, Maurice Taylor, Yao Ming, Chris Mihm, Vlade Divac, Lorenzen Wright, Stromile Swift, Malik Allen, Udonis Haslem, Eldon Campbell

18 ft: PJ Brown, David West, Marcus Camby, Vin Baker, Kurt Thomas, Kenny Thomas, Darius Songalia, Malik Rose, Kris Humphries, Jarron Collier, Zydrunas Ilgauskas (Big Z), Drew Gooden, Robert Traylor, Juwan Howard, Jermaine O'Neal, Joe Smith, Jason Collins

20 ft: Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Curtis Borchardt (this basically his game...), Tom Gugliotta, Slava Medvedenko, Michael Doleac, Christian Lattner

To 23 ft: Josh Davis (76ers, he also needs a 3 pt boost to at least 50), Brian Scalabrine

3 that didn't really fit in 14 ft for Big Ben, Tyson Chandler, and Adonyl Foyle.

Maybe I should've listed who doesn't deserve a boost. I have no idea why EA makes 12' the default range for big men. Most big's in the NBA can hit a jumper consistently when at least 16' away from the basket. Over half of the above have an offensive game that is basically shooting the jumper and little post moves.

LeBron James: King James
Carmelo Anthony: 'Melo
Dwayne Wade: Flash
Pau Gasol: PG-13
Baron Davis: B-Diddy
Andrei Kirilenko: AK47

josh smith's blocking average is just 50?

i think 75 is reasonable now.. he's averaging about a week bit under 2 blocks a game

Sorry, I think 75 is way too high. If you want it that high, you'll have to make the change yourself. Josh Smith is a good player and we're seeing more and more from him all the time, but he's still not one of the best players in the league. If I keep upping his ratings, pretty soon he's going to be, and a little prematurely...

What the hell are you talking about too high. He's averaging 1.8 blocks in 24 minutes.
If you don't his overall to go up then drop his 3pt rating to 0, he's 0-4 this year from behind the arc

It's too high, between 50 or 60 would be more reasonable, 75 is too high. :)

Donyell Marshall - His three-point rating should be upped a bit from 62. He's averaing 5 three-point attempts per game, making 2 of them. At 40% from behind the arc, he's one of the better shooting big men in the league. He also spends a lot of time at the PF/C position. He doesn't play much at SF. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/2627/career

Troy Murphy - Also needs a boost in his three-point rating. I think he's only a 30 in v1.07. He's doesn't shoot the three as much as Donyell, but he's definitely higher than 30. He's shooting 46% from behind the arc. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3524/career

Please calm down. I can review his ratings, but I feel that 75 is just too high. Remember, I appreciate suggestions and try to put them all to good use but I don't agree with everything and I do have final editorial rights.

Thanks for the input y2dan, noted. (Y)

I never said J-smoove was one of the best players. But he is one of the best BLOCKERS IN THE LEAGUE. and i agree that it sounds pre-mature, but according to games, he's arguably the best in his games (i.e. he'll have the highest in the game he's playing).

cmon andrew  you gotta be fair.

and you can lower is 3-point rating to like 10 or something, to "balance it out" :|

It dosent mean that If J.Smith is ur fav player he has to be the best. Andrew did a good job on his last update with Josh Smith's rating. His blocking rating is even good, jus play 1 on 1 game and u will see his ratings come in to action

I think I am being fair. If you don't agree with a rating, you're free to make your own changes, so long as you don't turn around and redistribute the roster as your own work. I'm sorry, but I don't think he warrants a 75 right now. Perhaps a little more than 50, but not 75. End of story.

whoa whoa whoa. who the hell said that josh smith is one of the best players in the game? NO ONE. get that through your fuckin head.

and no, im sure there are a bunch of people who believe that Josh smith's block rating should increase but i'll leave it at that. fucking christ, just because he's one of my fave doesn't mean i think he's the fucking best. does a 75 rating for a guy with 1.84bpg merit the word "best" next to his name? but dampier, whos averaging just 1.29 has a 75+ in block..

but i'm over the fact that josh wont be 75 in your rosters. just keep doin' yo thang andrew. i'll make my rosters with 75 :)

(excuse my poor language, but its infuriating when people think that i say josh smith is the best thing since slice bread. fuckers)

EDIT: about the "pretty soon he'll be one of the best players" thing. it is said that he has the most potential out of all the '05 draftees (more than livingston and dwight howard). now that he's starting to get into his groove, it's becoming more and more of a reality..
