Game Crashing

Whenever I start up Live, the game briefly comes up, but then it reverts back to the desktop (Live is still running). A message comes up for a short period of time, and it mentions something about my screen resolution not being 1024X768, although it is. Everytime I try to restore it, the same thing happens; it briefly flashes onto the screen but then minimizes itself. If anybody has any suggestions as to what's causing this it'd be much appreciated. Thanks
