Help. I don't want to get fired.

Postby LarBrd33 on Mon Jan 17, 2005 12:02 pm

Dynasty mode is ticking me off. My first 3 years stunk, but in my 4th I won the title... and now when I try to end the season I am getting fired. Is there any way to edit it so that your GM points are high so I don't get fired? I know you can edit dbf's to change your team... I guess what I could do is just accept a job with some other team and then after the offseason switch back to my old team, but then i'm missing out on an entire offseason with my team because you can't save during the offseason. Very lame. Help.

I mean is there any way to turn that feature off? I can't stand it. Some times I like to blow up a team and start from scratch. If we don't make the playoffs immediately in 3 years I get fired. It's moronic.

i would think there's a value somewhere that does that. i myself don't know, but hopefully one of our resident geniouses will chime in soon :-D

i do agree that being able to turn that off would be a big plus. sometimes i really like to totally tank a team for a few years, as well.

and just for future reference, you don't have to reply to your own post immediately like that, there's an edit button :)

Isn't there a selection for this when you start the dynasty??? I don't know if you can change the setting during the dynasty...

There should be something like GM Evaluation or something like that if recall correctly... If you turn it off, I think it should eliminate the chance of being fired...

There was last year, but not this year. We're stuck with GM evaluations as far as I can tell.

i think you didn't do well in scouting, training and dynasty extra so your being fire by the owner

probably. i think we have a need for a 'classic' dynasty mode, where you can turn scouting/training/pda updates/in-depth offseason/etc OFF. one of my favorite things about dynasty/franchise mode in previous versions was simming through seasons, and that's really time consuming now

i could have sworn on the gamecube version there is an option to turn off gm evaluation. i'll check when i get home (later today)

Not really. If I just want to sim straight through, I sim to the end of the season, see where I've landed on the standings, then scout 5 or so rookies that look OK and are likely to go near my draft position while I sim the playoffs.

Then in the offseason, I sim straight to the re-sign players, re-sign any players I need to, do the draft, and sim past the free agent and trade period unless I've got any specific goals in mind there.

Just ignore the PDA, nothing bad comes from it, and you get the season simmed much quicker.
