Editing Numbers/Transparency

How would I go about editing numbers? I try opening a number file in fshx and come up with a runtime error. Also I extract something and import it back in fshx and there is green around the edited image imported back. I was wondering if there was a way to preserve the transparency.

From what ive read its not possible to edit numbers.
