Advice needed for my Knicks Dynasty

Sun Jan 02, 2005 3:06 pm

Alright here is the deal. You guys might think I am crazy with the first move I made but I am not high on Stephon Marbury. I will support him because he is on my team but I don't consider him the best point guard in the NBA like he said yesterday. I also don't agree with some of his shot selections and overall I don't think he's a cornerstone for building. But anyway, I digress...

Here is what I did before the season started while still in Dynasty mode:

Marbury, Tim Thomas and Moochie Norris for:
Abdur-Rahim, Van Exel and Sabastian Telfair

I can't stand Tim Thomas, I feel Abdur Rahim is more of a low post player with overall better skills. I know I gave up a lot but with what I got in return, I had no use for Marbury or Thomas and didn't really want either of them here.

I have a created PG of myself who is rated 71. I have good passing and defense, horrible close basket scoring, decent 3's (I think 79) and that's about it. Speed and quickness isn't that great, high 70's, low 80's. I wanted to make myself decent and not some Godly like player, that kills the fun.

So here is what my lineup looks like right now:

C - Nazr or Kurt Thomas - I usually run with Nazr when the other team has some size.
PF - Abdur-Rahim or Kurt Thomas
SF - Abdur-Rahim or Ariza
SG - Crawford
PG - Van Exel, me or Telfair - we honestly all get about even minutes, Telfair a little less. I rarely put myself in at SG at times.

Key players on the Bench:
Jerome Williams (I love this guy)
Allan Houston (impossible to trade)
Me
Sometimes Penny and Vin Baker

Here is the deal... I was playing at my cousin's the other night with the Suns and Amare Stoudamire is fun as hell. I want him on my team.

Problem is he doesn't make that much and the only players I could move for him make a lot.

So I am thinking about trading Rahim and Nazr OR Kurt for Vince Carter and Rafer Alston. I would then try to send Carter to the Suns along with somebody else, possibly Jamal Crawford OR more likely Rahim or Kurt, whoever didn't get traded.

I was looking it over last night and although it doesn't sound like it would work and I may not have described it completely right, it would work out in the end with the money.

The main reason why I think it would be fair to get Amare is because the Suns are not even starting him in my Dynasty. It's so stupid, because Marion is listed as PF, he got moved up to that spot and Amare is on the bench. So I figure if they aren't using him I should try to get them somebody who they would use, Carter. It's obviously too late to change Marion's position so Amare will rot there til I do something. Amare isn't even rated over 80 as well, but has so much potential. I might even throw in Ariza because he's like 19 years old. The Suns are also about .500 level.

So what do you guys think... should I leave my team how it is now or try to risk getting denied midway while trading Carter?

I am 14-12 right now, play on Superstar, 10 minute quarters, with my own sliders. In my last 15 games or so I've probably won 9 of them.

I'd like to hear your thoughts, thanks if you read this far.

It's just risky because the Suns could decline, which they probably won't but you never know. Then I would be stuck with Carter.

There might be seats left in the 400's for the Heat game... it's not a bad view if you are semi-centered. There really isn't a bad seat in that arena except for the vertical view in the 400's.

mARBURY FOR TELFAIR!~! I would of punched my damn cousin in the face. I say they got the better trade.

Knicks already had a good outside game and a Decent Inside game . ( Not the Best but it got the job done ). Outside > Inside if u asked me.

But i put Houston at SF and have regular starters so we have more of an outside threat and they start doubling up and i pass to inside for easy Shot. Knicks are the best in the game!

I say:

C - Nazr
PF - Reef
SF - Trevor
SG - Jamal
PG - Nick The Quick (If you have a biggest rating, put yourself here)
