Dynasty Question:

Postby EMan on Wed Dec 29, 2004 3:59 pm

Ok, I had a Heat dynasty going for a bit. I was having fun until I got to a game against the Nets.

Earlier in the season, they had signed a couple new players. Lonny Baxter and Leon Smith.

Both had 35 as jersey numbers. So does Jason Collins. That made 3 players all with the same number on the same team. I couldn't do anything because the Nets were CPU controlled.

I've tried a couple .dbf editors, but neither are working out well. I've tried DB Commander and DBF View. No matter what changes I make to my .dbf files, the changes get undone upon exiting the .dbf editor. (DB Commander in particular seems to lack a save feature.)

Is there an easy way to edit CPU controlled teams easily? Some nice, simple editor out there? What do you all use?

just go to the teams.dbf and change the ISHUMAN or whatever the name is to TRUE so that way you can control the Nets team and just edit the numbers then change it back to FALSE after you finish it.

Tried both ideas just now.

DB Commander 2000 Pro did not save either change. I made each attempted change one at a time, then went into the game, and nothing was different.

Upon re-starting DB Commander, the changes I thought I had made were gone.

Is there a save function to this program? There is no Save under the File Menu, or any Menu at the top for that matter. How do I save changes?

If only this game was as easy to edit as the NHL series. I'd be in heaven.

Use Microsoft VisualFox 6.0 From the VisualStudio 6.0 Pack. Better than dbcommander but have to be more advanced =p.

It just lacks the easy colum deleting.

Just exit ouf of DB Commander and it will save auto... Does on both VisualFox and DB Commander. If it doesnt go to File > EXport.

That's what I've been doing. It never remembers my changes made to the players.dbf of my dynasty.

Gonna try Microsoft Excel. Hopefully it'll work better.
