Audio Nicknames (anyone still have 2004 installed?)

Fri Dec 24, 2004 10:56 am

I heard that nicknames such as X-Factor and The Game are still in Live 2005 but EA forgot to add an option in Create A Player. You have to put a certain audio nick # on the players.dbf to hear the announcers say the nickname.

My question is for anyone who has Live 2004 installed. If you would be kind enough to post the audio nick # of each nickname so we can use them for Live 2005, that would be great.

I need to add a replacement nickname for Michael Jordan. It's not the same hearing the announcers say "Number 23" all the time.

open the nicknames database for all of them.

That's awesome, thanks.

Did you get that to work? I have only been able to get the created player nicknames to work (all the 4 digit id#'s in the nicknames.dbf file)... I would love to figure out a way to get the players to be called by their last names if the audio file already exists in the game (i.e. if I have rookie with last name Wallace, he should be able to be called Wallace and not #...)

How did you do that? I changed audionick and nickname in players.dbf according to the dates of nicknames.dbf, but announcer and commentator still call my players "number xy" :(

I guess it doesn't work anymore. I just tried it. Damn EA.

YOu can Cause i have it. he calls my Person its NickName. ANd i Have Another named after Fisher. All I did was copy the audionicks and other stuff from Derek Fisher to him and it works

TheGuru - and this was for 2005? What stuff did you copy exactly, and I assume you mean within the players.dbf file?

Also - Blaze -

You don't have to put anything in the audionick field at all, just leave that blank. I have only tried this with a created player that i've added to my dynasty (well i've tried other things but this is the only one i've had working). Open your nicknames.dbf file and note that only ID numbers 9500 - 9519 will work consistently, although I bet if you pick one that is used pretty often in the game that it will probably work some of the time... I'm not sure on that at all, just a guess. Anyways, so open your players.dbf file, find your created player and give him one of those four digit ID #'s in your NICKNAMEID field. Lastly, make sure that the "ISCREATED" field is set to true in the players.dbf file for your player.

Get Microsoft VisualFox from Visual Studio 6.0 or get DBF Commander from the NLSC Site.
