Getting a offensive rebounds..

Computer always do box out when I try to get someone (C or PF) into the paint area...

And then I am unable to get the rebound.
Can I do box out while I am in offense, trying to get the offensive rebound. If do, which button I should press?..

And how to do box up while I am in defense, with the controlling player..
For example, I am controlling Shaq, how to do box out that prevent player getting the rebound?

I've pressed the box out button before. It doesn't seem to do anything.

which button u press?

to box out all you have to do is press and hold the back down button, your player will turn and face the basket thus boxing the player out...

as for offence, offensive rebounds are hard to get anyways
