I can't even play a SINGLE dynasty game!

What's going on? I'm Minnesota and it says my first game is on the 3rd of November against NY so I click that date, click "Play Game" and the simulating status bar appears and the music's still playing but about 70% to it, the music stops and the game hangs!
Btw, this is for the PC version.
I patched the game once - used an alternate jersey but deleted it before going to dynasty mode... put in 4 codes - all shoes, hardwood classics, team gear, and 50,000 dynasty points... used my updated saved roster with a created player (me)... and that's it! I can't remember doing anything else differently.
Why can't I play even ONE game?!?!

well try using the default roster. if it doesnt' work then try installing it.
