How can you load your controller configurations?

If you save your own controller configurations, there isn't any way to actually load them or even be able to use them in the game. I start the game and go into settings, click on my controller profile and all you can do is click the left arrow at the bottom left and you go back to the game and your still using the default controller settings for your gamepad. This has got to be some kind of error on my part. What in the world is wrong?

At the team selection screen select which team you want to use and then click on the controller. You can then choose which configuration you want. NBA Live 2005 unfortunately doesn't save this info.

Thanks a lot Bassman. That has changed everything for me. The game is much more playable now.
