Pc dunk combinations (keyboard)

Sun Dec 05, 2004 12:21 pm

the best dunk i can seem to do with my keyboard is probably an under the leg reverse by running up to the rim and pressing "x" twice, also if you can help me with how to doing alley opps that would really be cool.

Sun Dec 05, 2004 1:13 pm

i also have a keyboard, and i can only do that dunk plus there is another button for "takeoff", where the player starts off one handed. I dont think we can do alley opps in the dunk mode, coz u seed to use ur analogue stick.
Although u can do a punch of variety takeoff dunks, just press the takeoff button then hold it together with another button!

ok, u can believe me that i can do almost all dunks (including alley opp from the big screen doing 360 between the legs) from the keyboard.
i cannot do only 720, but i heard people who could =)

i can toss the ball of the backboard only, but not of big screen..how do you do it? you probably modified that file in my documents folder (so did i), but i don't know how are you able to toss it of the big screen...please tell :P

2 _marsal:
ok dude =)

for ex. your *.cfg should have
bind K_R RYAXISCHANGE
bind K_F RXAXISCHANGE

p. s. for people who dont know:

as you can use your own key config. it is stored in \My documents\NBA LIVE 2005\configs\your_config_name.cfg
you've to open it with any txt editor and add these two lines:
bind K_R RYAXISCHANGE - where K_? is your any_you_want_key
bind K_F RXAXISCHANGE - where K_? is another key_you_like_to_use

R - one press - toss From the rim (sorry my bad english)
F - one press - toss To the rim

one tip:
try to combine your quickplay keys

u asked:
quickplay 3 + R - toss one hand from left big screen
quickplay 4 + R - toss one hand from right big rscreen

quickplay 3 + F - toss two hands from left big screen
quickplay 4 + F - toss two hands from right big screen
quickplay 3 + F(hold) - elbow toss from left big screen
quickplay 4 + F(hold) - elbow toss from right big screen

aslo u can combine quickplay + R + F(hold) and etc.
ohh, i forgot =) dunk mods can be very useful in toss too! =) see ya =)

timing is all =))
make the simplest toss, and quickly press direction_key to te backboard, then a few moments later make any gather (not 180 at first =)), catch the ball before it hit the ground.
or the other way press the gather just a few moments after the ball hit the ground

thanx

Fri Dec 10, 2004 1:35 pm

Can you rotate say a 180 or 360 to finish off a dunk in dunk contest. If so what function to I bind a key to (my controller configuration is different to EA's one).

by the way i always changed my config key in prev. nba lives series but didnt in 2005, here is my config (its almost standart)

bind K_P PLAYCALL4
bind K_O PLAYCALL3
bind K_I PLAYCALL2
bind K_U PLAYCALL1
bind K_DOWN DOWN
bind K_UP UP
bind K_LEFT LEFT
bind K_RIGHT RIGHT
bind K_E BACKDOWN //one foot 180 gather
bind K_S CROSSOVER // one foot gather
bind K_X PASS // two feet 180 gather
bind K_D SHOOT // two feet gather
bind K_LSHIFT TURBO
bind K_A FAKE
bind K_LCTRL DIRECTSHOOT
bind K_C DIRECTPASS
bind K_W DEBUG2
bind K_SPACE DEBUG1
bind K_ESC PAUSE
bind K_Q CALLPLAY
bind K_R R_UP
bind K_R R_DOWN
bind K_R RYAXISCHANGE
bind K_F R_LEFT
bind K_F R_RIGHT
bind K_F RXAXISCHANGE
ioconfig_mgr_analog 0
ioconfig_mgr_haspov 0
ioconfig_mgr_default 0
ioconfig_mgr_displayname "My Keys"
ioconfig_mgr_keyboard_priority 0

the simplest way to do 360: (i guess you dont have analog like me :))
try without toss first =))
step by step
1. stand on three throw line (better to do from the right side)
1. press direction key to the backboard
2. make a two feet 180 gather, and (Important!) while player making the gather, you have to press the direction keys ("arrows" in my config by default) reverse to clockwise (sorry my bad english), this mean that i have to press up, left, down then right, before the player jumps into the air.
4. then press any dunk key

and use rookie setting in slamdunk practice

do the somersault before alley-oop for keyboard

Fri Dec 10, 2004 10:12 pm

i find out how to do a foward somersault before completing an alley-oop.
After tossing the ball, hold the dunk modifier and direction key towards backboard and then when ready press the Pump Trick/2 Foot Gather button. Im yet to complete a dunk like that though

540 and 720 dunks possible or not?

Sun Dec 12, 2004 2:34 pm

I was playing dunk contest can McGrady did a 540 dunk, the L. James did a 720. I didnt think it was possible. Does anyone know how to do this with keyboard?

Cheers

For me the sickest dunk yet the simplest to do is the between the legs twice. I usually save that for the 2nd round while in the first round I usually do the MJ dunk 1 ft behind the foul line.

To do a between the legs 2x,
For the gather, press the shoot button while holding down the backdown button.

After that, press and hold shoot UNTIL the ball touches his 2nd hand (his left hand) on the first between-the-legs. REMEMBER, when the ball TOUCHES his left hand during the 1st between-the-legs, release the shoot button straight away! If all succeeds, he will automatically do the 2nd between the legs and the finish.

And I advise you to release the shoot button earlier than later. If you release it early, it will not be counted as an attempt, but if you released it late, he will miss the dunk.

Thanks all for all your help.

WE need to make a big list orjust convery the PS2 Controls to PC.

When explaining though use the Default Controls to help people. NOt every cahnges their Controls around. ( I do but i just got used to using the default controls in isntructions)
