UPDATED: LiveDynasty.com Forum- new forum, reregister

Thu Dec 02, 2004 7:49 am

EDIT: the forum is now linked from the homepage, http://www.livedynasty.com

NEWS! Thanks to James, we have a brand new php forum (in other words- 100 times better than the old board)....so if everyone could go re-sign up there, we can really get this thing rollling :)

http://livedynasty.drjbballer.com/index.php

absolute thanks to james (Y)

It's hard to get a forum going, because people look and see that there's no posts, so why should they post? That's why we need your help to just sign up and start posting as if it's already an active forum ...It will never get off the ground without the community behind it!

Thanks alot guys, and we have some great things coming in the future for livedynasty.com

anyones I believe

Thu Dec 02, 2004 7:57 am

yeah.. i've registered too

Thu Dec 02, 2004 8:09 am

Hmmmmmmm perhaps I should register too!

I just wanted to add that livedynasty.com and the message board was contrived to help enhance the Dynasty experience and encourage Dynasty players to try and keep to their dynasty alive more than just a season or two.

As some know, I'm big into 'coding' and just trying to find new ways to put that into use(ie the Birdie Board, reversible live cards) While I still feel that my coding skills are quite intermediate I know that it can only be used for the good of the NLSC community.

Donatello and I have been good at bouncing ideas off each other for concepts. Execution in some things have been problematic as expertise in areas such as layout and design, are fields that we're seeking help from the community(just looking at my Live Cards…ug ug ug) As there seems to be some photoshop/layout gurus here in the community, we'd like to touch base on as well.

Patching? We'll leave that for all the great patch sites out there. We want to make Livedynasty.com an 'add-on' site to NLSC if you will and not to compete for attention. We're pretty much loyalist to the NLSC community anyway…

…so that's that…I'm going to register myself now.

Thu Dec 02, 2004 8:53 am

im always looking for ways to enhance my dynasty, a site dedicated to it should be nice, there are some great dynasties that need more love, im in

Thu Dec 02, 2004 9:05 am

awesome, awesome, keep em' comin :)

as for me, i'll be posting some "extra" stuff about my nets dynasty on the livedynasty forum, stuff like birdie scores, more stuff about stats.....but feel free to post your entire dynasty there.

again, as honor glow said, we're not trying to steal any of NLSC's glory, as we are huge fans and supporters of NLSC. we're just trying to add to it.

Thu Dec 02, 2004 3:19 pm

hey all, even though there's not much to post about right now, if you could just register so that more people get interested, it would be great (Y)- I say this because I'm noticing quite a bit of traffic to the site and "guests" online, but not too many of those "guests" are registerring.

I realize that it's just getting started, but to get rollin, we gotta have members :) I just think this site/forum will be really great to help people have better, more enjoyable dynasties.

Thanks alot.....

Thu Dec 02, 2004 3:44 pm

i already registered and will soon post there.

Thu Dec 02, 2004 6:17 pm

we've got 2 lists going over there, one with the most viewed NLSC dynasties, and one with the most replied-to. cocobee tops both lists :applaud:

http://s3.invisionfree.com/livedynasty/index.php?showtopic=14

also- thanks to micchy_boy, we will now have a list of all active dynasties, as well (hopefully from nlsc, .org, and anywhere else )

Fri Dec 03, 2004 3:25 am

I ran into a snag trying to revamp the main page over there so please have patience as I try to retrofit everything to become functional :D

Oh yeh and Donatello, due to the slight setup, I did add the link to the forum from the home page...Rock on...

Well it's probably only 1/4 way there...as I'm slow and suck on web design.. it'll get there(actually I'm changing it slowly so that people who longed for the old sucky look won't notice the subtle changes)

Thank you Andrew for the plug...as I see a sudden increase in our hits. Too bad I didn't change the website sooner before the plug...

Fri Dec 03, 2004 7:36 pm

I'll register, and will post :) If you need a designer, just gimme a call :P

Fri Dec 03, 2004 9:42 pm

Thanks guys so much for your interest in helping out with design project. Right now before we go into any new ventures, I want to tighten down and kick butt on the ones that are currently on our plate. The biggest area of weakness is the Live Card templates...right now if you view the livecards, I very much feel that this is in 'rough draft stage'

What we need is like cool looking live card templates created via HTML or Java that are 'flexible' enough to accomadate a series of ballers. After the template is 'done' I can retrofit the CGI into so that the baller's action screenshot and season stat line can be pushed onto it. Huskies and truSt...can I put you to this Small Project to exercise your skills?

Card template size(front and back): 202 x 287
ALSO: to mention, I'll definitely post credit where credit is due...

Are we gonna use them as Online Trading Cards ^^ :o

Sat Dec 04, 2004 4:08 am

No Doubt Najira, then we can have a live forum: "Oh do you have the 2005 Cocobee Rookie Card, no way…I've been looking all over for that!"

Also, we can have someone design the Live stale Bubble Gum stick that comes with each online trading pack.

…oh yeh and then each trading card could have Hit Point or Spells that the player has like in Magik or Pokeman…well, I guess I digress

Mainly, the live card was just a unique way to glorify the Team MVP's stats and birdie score and give an action shot…and let the GM know who he's playing similar to.

Eventually, before 2006 comes out, I'll be consolidating all the cards into a 'set' and give it a unique page for viewing purposes.

Well, actually Najira, you won't need 05 in terms of developing the Live Card templates..in fact I was going to use a template for our NLSC '04 Dynasty Team MVP. Do you think you can develop an Html template?

Sat Dec 04, 2004 5:25 am

Yeah,
I will work on a template.

We also have a league there. Check it out.

Sat Dec 04, 2004 5:29 am
