Live 05 looks kinda shitty on my PC...
I've got a P3, 1.1 ghz, 448 MB, 64 MB Geforce MX...
What yall think i should improve first? My CPU or the video card. I heard Live sucks on this type of cards.
Thanx!

I'd say upgrade the video card first, because when you use good quality transform&lighting in hardware, the CPU is of less importance.

the video card has nothing to do with it. i have a 256 mb video card and the game looks like crap. complete crap. its the game thats the problem. ok so update the video card but the game will still look like crap.

since ur topic has been blocked bestclubowner, I should tell you that you should not start to criticize live 05 in this topic also! Say is asking for opinions on wat to upgrade, not to criticize the game.
Anyway i think you should upgrade ur Video Card. I personally overclocked my video card to make the game run better.

id actually upgrade the CPU. 1.1 is realy slow by today's standards.
64 megs video card shouldn't be too bad.
the best thing is upgrade both, obviuosly. but i'd do the CPU first..

Dude, both, but if only one, vid card. Geforce MX? <shudder> Does your motherboard have a cheap upgrade path for a CPU? I'm guessing you have an AMD Socket A setup, so you could, for example, drop $45 clams on
one of these. To be honest, though, I think a full platform upgrade is in order (mobo, cpu and memory).

Make sense to upgrade CPU and motherboard FIRST before upgrading your graphics card.
If you upgrade the vid card first and throw down a significant amount of money..so what? At best it'll run only slightly better than your current card because you're cpu limited.
You upgrade your cpu/mobo first, and any time down the road you can buy a better graphics card. A new cpu would also speed up everything else you do with your computer in the mean time.
Everything has to be balanced in your system, but the first place you always start is cpu/motherboard before dropping serious $$$ on graphics cards because if you do it the other way you'll see very little improvement especially with such a slow existing computer.

my laptop specs are p4, 256mb ram 40gig harddrive and dell intergrated graphics and i can play live 05 on maximum graphics setting and it runs pretty well. i was scared that it might not run properly but it runs really well!

He's already said that he has a P3.

You neeeed to check your mobo handbook and see what your upgrade options are. It could well be that you cant upgrade the cpu.
eg- My current system has a P4 2.4, my mobo will only handle a P4 2.8. I can OC it to 2.8, so there's no point in me upgrading. So just check your manual and see what it says before your fork over any cash for parts you cant use.
bishibashiboy is giving you good advice as well.

Upgrade both.
For your system, whichever the one you buy, the other will be a bottleneck and you will be wasting your money coz it won't perform as well as its cost
