Point rewarding system in NBA Live 2005

Hello dear NBA fans!

This is my first topic, so pliz do not critisize me too much on my scrumble English. Thanx! :D

So I got the game yesterday (yeah, U'll say, why did I wait so long...I had the game before, i did not have computer to play on) and I am still a rookie in it, but I can tell U it blew me away, totaly! THANK U EA!

Now, the rewarding system confuses me a little bit. U get points for achieving certant goals in game (Player goals an Team goals) BUT the number of points are VERY low on first look, don't U think?
Let's say, hypoteticaly, I play 8 min. quarters at starter level with Houston (I'm from Slovenia - NACHBAR fan) and get let's say 30 of these rewarding points a game. That equals around 2500 points per season, which is just enough to take my team for ONE PRACTICE, for lets say rebounding. Isn't that a little bit to difficult? If I want to train my team for a whole sesaon on 4 basic basketball "preferences" (shooting, rebounding, blocking, dunkin etc.) I need a LOOOOOT of points, or at least 4-5 seasons in dynasty mode. But it is true, that this kind of training lifts your team rankings in rebounding by 4 or somewhere here.

That's how I got it, though. Hopefully I'm mistaking. Didn't have much time to spend in the game till now...

So what are your experiences with this so-called rewarding system in dynasty mode? Is it really so hard to get enough points to train your team?

Thank you for all of your posts and good bye from Slovenia!

What I find annoying is that you get penalized for playing a good all-around team game. So many points rewards are for individual acievements! The best games I've played have given me only a handful of points. Bah, I don't really care about the Store anyway.

Though I've grown used to the concept, the rewards system does have a couple of problems. As you both noted, sometimes a really good game will yield few points, leaving you little to spend on Dynasty extras. Also, you don't get a lot of points when you sim seasons, which makes things difficult if you want to sim a couple of years or a whole Dynasty without playing any games (as most of us do from time to time).

Scouting is the most difficult part. As you need Dynasty points to send your scouts out, if you aren't accumulating many points you can't really fulfil that part of Dynasty Mode (which doesn't sit well with the team owner). I'd like to see some changes in this area to accomodate teams that aren't performing well or are going through simulated seasons. Afterall, bad NBA teams are still able to scout the top prospects in the draft - since they're the ones in position to grab the top talent, they're generally the teams with the most keen interest.

Lazy bums sim, and they deserve no point. ..... Realistic.

GM who doesn't want to attend games and just sits down and waits until a couple of seasons to go by... what merit does he have to claim any points

When you need points desperatly, try to score at least 1 point with all your players. It's quite achivable and it gives you 300 dynasty points. I did it with houston quite easily, but you have to play a full game probably, not just simulate to the 4th qtr...

If you're playing 82 game seasons and 12 minute quarters, it's virtually impossible to get through an entire 25 year season without simulating - not without neglecting every other responsibility in your life. ;) Besides, even if the GM doesn't attend many games, the role you assume when you play the games is that of head coach and each of the players. And they would send their scouts out regardless.

It's not just simulating either. A good team game without a few players having spectacular performances will net very few team points. In theory, you could have a pretty good year in the standings but just not garner enough points to scout as often as you should.

Perhaps the team owner's requests and suggestions should depend on the resources (ie Dynasty points) you have available. Demanding that you purchase a bunch of Dynasty Extras or have a lot of training sessions or scout players every week isn't always feasible. The other solution would be to make these cheaper or in the case of scouting and training, allow the user to do these tasks for free but with lesser results.

actually, you can do some DBF editing to get more points or make the training less cost, igame coz me 30 dynasty points, 120 for 5 days and, 240 for 10 days and 720 for whole season. on tasklist i get 460 just for 1 game and not all of my lpayer scores

You can also get 2500 pts if you get 20 or more field goals without missing a shot for the whole game. If you desperately need the Dynasty points, play some games and set the difficulty to Starter mode, then pressure the opponents Guards while they are bringing the ball down. Make some steals and get a lot of easy baskets. Though you also need to lower the minutes per quarter. I ussually achieve 20 FG's without a miss in 3 minutes per Quarter. If I do not have a clear dunk or layup, i just turn the ball over on purpose to save time.

Hope this helps.

i think you can used it exhibition but in dynasty well it will only make your dynasty so unrealistic.

by the way with my method, just after 2 games i already have 1600 dynasty points, i can even afford to get the team doctor for 1000 or a dyansty extra for the whole season for 720 :D

Your method certainly works, but some might consider that cheating. ;) At any rate, there's not much console users can do to remedy the problem.
