HOW COME I CANT SET MY DETAILS SETTINGS TO MAXIMUM???

its depends on not just your video card, but processor and thing that help the game to run smooth and look better graphically.

Let's assume you have the minimum specs posted below:

- Athlon XP 1.3 - 1.8 GHz (even less, but not less than about 600MHz)
- 256MB DDR SDRAM @ 133MHz front side bus
- GeForce FX5200 128MB or 64MB 128-BIT DDRSDRAM
- sufficient amount of hard disk space
- Win XP Pro SP1 or SP2 / Win 2000 Pro
- DirectX 9.0b

IMO, with the video card you have, NBA Live 2005 should run smoothly (i.e. max detail settings @ 800x600 screen resolution). If you are upgrading, but not to the point of losing so much bucks just to play the game, then I suggest you look for 128-bit video cards, be it ATI or nVidia chipsets.

by saying this, do you mean the game runs best at 800x600? because i have it at 1024x768 or whatever.

If GeForce FX5200 128MB/64MB 128BIT DDR can handle NBA Live 2005 @ max detail settings with 1024x768 screen resolution without problems such as choppy/slow movements, etc., then it runs best at that screen resolution. But 128-BIT video cards are pretty much powerful.

That 32MB card is most likely the issue. You have a great system but the GPU in a 32MB card is not that fast. Besides the card is just meeting the minimum requirements.
