How do you rebound? Tip in, put back or the normal?

Postby Terry on Sat Nov 06, 2004 10:17 am

I found out that put back is pretty hard to do the timing but tip in is not very accurate. So I only pull the ball down and reset the offense. Which one do you like?

ps, does it count as one offense rebound if the offense player tip in the ball? And how about if he make the tip but he miss?

I'm not sure about the rebounding counting part, but I personally like to try to tip it back in. It actually works a lot for me. I don't get it many times, but usually when I do, it goes in. It seems like tip ins are easier to 'touch' too. If I try to pull the rebound and fail, I feel bad because I could have reached it if I tried to tip, and I woulda had a chance to make it.

I have only got one tip back, and a dunk tip down, but that is it for me
I cant get it down that well, I know it shouldnt come natural but I never can get it
So I just bring it back down and set up or take it back up

I also had trouble in the beginning. By instinct I would always pull down the rebound, but since then I have added the two new rebound buttons to my moves.

yah.. A BIT would be perfect.. you just cant rely on it 100%... especially during crunch time.

I generally prefer to grab the board and reset the offense, but if I'm in good position I might try a tip in. Sometimes I'll try for a tip slam but in a close game I almost always stick to just securing the rebound and kicking it back out to set things up again.

Actually in crunch time I go for the tip in. I've had some EXCITING games online, and Chris Mihm has tipped in some vaaaaaaaaaaluable shots..

Another thing I notice is tip in works very well when you miss a free throw.

For me I can't even get close enough to tip in because I keep getting boxed out. I find it most effective to pull down free throw.

I also usally just grab the rebound and reset but most of the time its just force of habbit from Live's before
Id say its 50-50 on whether i put back or kick out but i never try the put back dunk, most of the time the cpu has already boxed me out to well to get up there anyway!

Sometimes I go for the putback but it's usually when I have a comfortable lead. It's REALLY COOL when a player puts back his own shot... *cough* kobe.. :D

I think a tip in frequency attribut is in order. Like for players without a whole lot power or size, they would be more akin to try to tip as oppsed to say, shaq who could bring it in and still powerslam it anyway...

With the tip ins, I notice the computer going for running tip slams way to much... and if they miss your team gets beat for a fast break buck or something... wish we could change that. :?
