Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

I've just started my Dynasty as the Rockets. While playing against the Magic I had T-mac guarding Mobley, which in my opinion is a match up in my favor, since T-mac being a good defender and having a couple of inches of advantage. But what was really annoying was that every single play Mobley would go one on one on T-mac while hitting almost 80%

from mid to long range. As a Live veteran(since 96) I think that I play at leat decent D on the CPU, and this was no problem for me in Live 04.
So what the F

k am I doing wrong!!! Is the timing deferent than in 04? Is raising your hands up more effective?(as in 03) Somebody please give me a clue on how to stop Mobley's unstopable jumper.
By the way I'm playing on Allstar difficulty. With default sliders, and changing sliders are a last straw for me. I wanna know how to out play the CPU with good D.

same here, using the rockets on superstar, the cpu hit alot unrealistic jumpers, and when i try to do the same i get blocked, i'm using fgrep15's sliders and user & cpu block on 0, at least the stats are realistic and blocks are reduced.

Dont shoot set shots all the time. If your pulling up for a jumper off the dribble, make sure you jump into your shot by pressing forward.

I am currently playing with the magic on dynasty mode and what i find most effective is putting my hands up. i put my hands up as soon as they get the ball and when they shoot a fadeaway run at them wit ur hans up and they will miss. Just keep them up , it also is very good D because they cant get pass you. if they shoot a set shot dont sand still move towards them. i play on all-star and i have no problem keeping the cpu to under 40 percent.

It's hard to shoot jumpshots even though I'm using Ray Allen at All-Star mode! The best solution I guess is to make the short-range, mid-range, lon-range jumpers to 55 the least to make it more realistic.

since T-mac being a good defender
LoL...Since when?

Try to double-team when he receives the ball and he won't be able even to shoot.

Dr.FuNk, your signature is currently way over the limit set forth by the forum rules. If you could modify it as soon as possible, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I've had this same problem with the opposing guards hitting mad shots. But last night playing against the Timberwolves, with Latrell going for 21 in the first half, I made a second half effort to lock him down and force the offense inside.
BTW...I play locked on Kobe on the Bulls (what if the Bulls had gotten the Kobus?)
Latrell had only 9 points in the second half, but it gave Garnett a lot more (3 in the first half and 14 in the second half.)
I think this game would vastly improve if the computer opponent had a few offenses it would typically run. Even with the random offense, the stars of teams I've played have gotten the points.

So far I've had the toughest time against NY. Marbury, Crawford, and T. Thomas all seem to have unstoppable midrange games. Is there any set defense that works best against this (aside from man-to-man)?
