roster save files

i noticed that saving files now uses the save name as folder names... meaning we don't have to worry about save 'slots' anymore! which is cool! maybe this would encourage patchers to create more rosters!

like maybe the nlsc roster patch can occupy more than just 3-4 slots to accomodate more kinds of roster

It will certainly be easier for installation. There shouldn't be any problems with overwriting rosters either. However, there's no need to maintain more versions of the current roster update than necessary. Having said that, what kind of rosters would you like to see in addition to the normal current rosters (as far as current rosters go, not special rosters or retro season rosters - that's for another topic ;))?

Don't know if it's really needed, but an example could be to make the "injured roster" with the real injured players placed on the injured list for a realistic exhibition game, and a "non-injured roster" for Dynasty mode. :)

@andrew:

hm... let me see...
1. opening night rosters
2. current rosters
3. current rosters (ignoring injuries)
4. preseason rosters

that's all i can think of as of now. too bad it's not possible to have more than 15 players in one team. :)

Sorry, but I've already gone past preseason rosters. I'll glady keep opening night rosters in the roster package though. Also, any major ratings tweaks will be part of the normal rosters and made out of necessity. I won't be producing any tweaked ratings rosters as I have in the past, as sliders are much more effective in tweaking gameplay (and they don't interfere with Dynasty Mode).

oh, too bad! it would have been cool to have preseason rosters, or even summer league rosters! i read from other threads that there are tons of players not in the game but are found somewhere in the nba live files that probably could be added as well. :)

this is kinda out of the topic, but im just curious, do you do the rosters by yourself? i just thought it really takes a lot of effort :)

Yes, I maintain my roster patch by myself though I always have plenty of help from the community as far as corrections and suggestions for ratings. Of course, I'm not the only person updating rosters so I'm not the only one making the effort.
