Hello guys!
Could someone help me. I can't see player models only players shadows. I checked system requirements in read me file. At minimum you must have radeon 8500, i have radeon 7500. I know it's really slow card but i can't change it 'cause it's impossible to change notebook's video card. May be there is some patch to fix this problem?

Your GPU is not supported. Anytime you try to play a game with a nonsupported GPU you will have TONS of problems. Go buy a new vid card...that's your only option.
Mon Nov 01, 2004 8:16 pm
yeah i have the same problem with my radeon vivo
cannot see players models and the court
the game is virtually unplayable
and i am not gonna buy another video card just for this game
in mvp baseball 2004 ppl complain about controller not being supported
now it's the video card
big thumbs down EA!!

I got good news for ya guys.. I also have Radeon 7500 and I alos used to not see the players models and courts.. so i uninstalled the radeon 7500 patch that i installed a long time ago and it worked pretty fine
U could also just uninstall radeon 7500 from the add/remove; then restart the comp and it will reinstall automatically..
Hope this helps you.

I also had/have the Ati Radeon 7500. And I also couldnt see the player models and stuff like that. So I ended up buying a new videocard.

I have the same problem.
Funny coz when I installed Live the 1st time last Saturday night, it worked great. I was running on 1024x768x32bit resolution and high player detail. I was able to play till dawn.
Unfortunately, when I started my computer the next morning, WindowsXP won't boot up. System32 folder was missing.
I had to do factory restore (i'm using IBM laptop so not much choice).
After restoring and installing all drivers, apps, and NBALive, I can't see player models. I downloaded the latest video drivers and now I can see player models, but they are really ugly. Looks like everything is in 320x200 resolution. All courts are in pure black...
Not sure what else I have to install..
My specs:
IBM ThinkPad R50, Centrino 1.4Ghz
512MB DDR
ATI Radeon Mobility 7500
40GB HDD

So you uninstalled the drivers and let Windows automatically download your drivers? That doesn't really solve anything. You are essentially just replacing your old drivers with well your old drivers but hey if it works for you that is good.
Seriously guys you are all using an unsupported GPU...what do you expect? There is a reason it is unsupported.

Well, we are just being optimistic. For some, upgrading is not always an option. For one, there is the budget issue, two, some are using laptops with onboard adapters that connect directly to the LCDs.
I've mentioned earlier that I was able to play Live05 without any graphic problems until my system got corrupted (nothing to do with Live). I'm still using the same laptop, no hardware change or anything, so I'm pretty sure there is a software fix for this. It's just a matter of people coming in to help out...

Look I understand that people have budget issues but the fact is that your GPU is unsupported. The requirements are printed on the BOX:
ATI Radeon or greater
When you see that WHY would you buy the game? It makes no sense. This is why people complain when they should have used common sense. Period.
Also, when you have an unsupported GPU sometimes it WILL play but then it won't later. That is the point why it is unsupported because it will give the owner instability issues. If you reformatted and such and you still can't play I doubt it is your OS.

Just because it's unsupported doesn't mean it won't work.
I've been playing Live on subpar video cards since 98, and I'm quite satisfied. I don't need superb graphics, just wanna play..
I knew the requirements beforehand but I still bought the game coz I love this series. And while I'm not going to replace my laptop just to play the game, I'd willing waste my time tweaking what I can to make it work.
Anyway, no point in arguing dude. You've made your point about the card being unsupported. Now, let's just leave this thread open for someone who might have a solution.. Cheers!

My game is working now!!!!!
I followed emad's advise. These are my actual steps:
- I removed my IBM supplied driver using ATI's uninstall utility (C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\VIDEO\ATICIMUN.EXE on my laptop).
- XP restarted and found the new hardware
- I chose let Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software
- then it returned 4 sets of drivers. I choose the last one (Radeon Mobility 7500 instead of ATI Mobility Radeon 7500). Version is 6.14.10.6422 date 5/13/2004.
Notice that when you check the Adapter settings, the DAC Type is 350Mhz. If you install drivers from IBM or ATI, the DAC type is set to 400MHz, which I think is wrong.
I hope it works on your system too Rim!

Thanks! Great!!! I installed these drivers and it works!
Fri Nov 05, 2004 7:31 am
F**K!
i also have IBM laptop with mobility radeon 7500.
i've tried JonathanAu steps but came out with nothing.
The windows automaticlly installed version 6.14.10.6483, dated 29/09/2004 and i couldn't figure out how to get windows to ask me what to install...
I've unchecked "automaticlly..." but got nothing.
Also, how can i check this DAC stuff?
ANY help is really apriciated...

adam,
Try removing the uninstalling the driver using Thinkpad Software Installer utility. After that, when you restart your laptop, windows will detect your hardware and install the new drivers. Make sure you are connected to the Internet for this to work.
If you are still getting 29/09/04 driver, I guess you'd have to call IBM to request for older drivers (13/5/04).
For the dac type, go to Display properties, Settings, Advanced, Adapter. It's somewhere there.

tnx, jonathan.
I'll see what i manage to do.
Sat Nov 06, 2004 1:28 am
OK,
The DAC was indeed wrong (according to ATI's site it should be 350MHz. but it's listed as 400MHz.).
The problem is i'm unable to find any suitable driver...
Can someone please upload the driver files (zipping them or something) somewhere or perhaps give me a link to driver version 6.14.10.6422 (13/05/04) which is reported to work?
ps. to see what files are used go to:
control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager -> (right click on the adapter) -> properties -> driver -> driver details.
tnx in advance.

Forget about DAC or something else. All what you need is these driver. The version is 6.14.10.6422. Just install it.
Sun Nov 07, 2004 6:24 am
Rim, unfortunately it's easier said than done...
Couldn't find this version anywhere, that's why i asked for your help.

1.download this stuff.
http:/users.skynet.be/FCB/files/Dhmodtool2.0b.exe
2. download ati driver
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-cat ... 13420c.exe
3.run ati driver. It will extract all files to c:\ati\support......Then press "no"
4.run dhmodtool and choose c:\ati\support folder. (you cannot install this ati driver without this tool)
5. Now you can open c:\ati\support folder and install this driver. Good luck!

Hi Rim.
Unfortunately IBM told me that as far as they are concerned - upon installing driver not from their site my warrenty expires...
So i think i'll skip this one...
Thanks alot anyway

Anytime!:)
P.S. Don't listen IBM:) They just don't want that their users could use other drivers:)
I use non Samsung ATI driver, but it works fine, cause all notebooks have the same hardware. The difference is only in brand:) Well anyway the choice is yours;)
