Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

I have been playing Live 05 for a couple games on PC. One thing I notice is that when ever I start a fast break...running down the floor, then pass the ball to a teammate who is running...THEY STOP, Turn around, THEN catch the ball~! What's up with that??
This prevents me from fast break at all~and I see the PC players pass the ball and their teammates catches it WHILE STILL RUNNING! This is so unfair~how do they do that while I can't? I used to be able to do silky smooth fastbreak in 04 without problem for a year~
Beside, the fast break I am talking about is that my teammates are the ONLY guys in the front court, no opposing team players blocking their way. They just can't catch the ball while continue running~ PLEASE HELP!

Your probably just doing something wrong. As you play more games I bet you'll start learning how to do one right. Once I get it I'll probably get some good ways too.

its not enough that they stop to catch the ball but they actually pause afterwards and wait for the comp to catch up. they went and fixed the speed cheat and added this. 1 step forward 2 steps back.

Guys, I figured out the fastbreak:
It's pretty simple. If you get a block or a rebound, you will NOT get a fastbreak. It's impossible because these players are stupid enough to jog and not worry about getting benched and if they catch a pass, they'll jump catch it and land slowly like a 2 year old kid would do. Now, in order to get a fastbreak that works, you have to steal the ball in your halfcourt, then it'll work beautifully. Too bad EA haven't watched enough NBA games to figure out that stealing the ball isn't the only way to get a fastbreak

Thanks, but my case is different.
I am controlling one player using keyboard, while my bro is using analog stick (Dule Action) and using a teammate. Say, I steal the ball, he runs front court, with NOBODY infront of him, I run, long pass to him, he should have (as in 04) catch the ball as he runs, and do the layup. No, he stops as he turns around and catches the ball, THEN he restart running toward the basket and make the layup. All this time, he didn't even release the turbo key and direction key.
We have been playing Live 04 for the past year together, we are both no newbie at all. That's why we noticed this difference right away as we start our 05 season. HOWEVER, we both see the PC controled team running fastbreak the same as in 04. We were both like "How do THEY do that? (as if it's something spectacular....-___-)" cause we aren't be able to pull this simple move out as we did all year playing Live 04~!
If anybody figure it out, please share, thank you. Otherwise it would be a quite frustrating season. (Not that we won't win alot, but having to see that bug takes away some fun for sure.)

got the game today and i know exactly what ur talking about froggy and it sh%ts me to tears..
like someone else said you can only fast break if the person you make the turnover with is ahead of the defense.. if you have to pass upcourt then ur screwed because of this whole turn around wait stop turn back around bs..

Well, from the few games I have played. I have found that running a fast break has something to do with position. The players CAN catch the ball in stride, but you have to be in the correct passing position. I think it like an over the shoulder pass. I got a few fast breaks and a couple of screen cuts that way, uncontested.

damn comp always catches me when i get ahead of the pack anyway but i think thats probably cause i got payton at point. i never did check his speed rating.
