Postby Micchy_boy on Sat Oct 30, 2004 4:06 am

i will start a thread and i hope everyone will give their knowledge on how to edit dbf for live 05. it was same with live 04 with only few changes like the generated rookies.

players salary also change coz of the fact there's and option to increase salary for multiyear salary.

I'll update the DBF editing guides for Live 2005 and try to whip up some tutorials once I've got my hands on the PC version. (Y)

I think we can use DBF Commander Pro.
I downloaded Ben's roster and tried to open it with DBFC and it worked. :)

Assuming the files are similar to previous years, cap space won't be a column in any of the dbfs; rather, it will be calculated according to the salary file (that may or may not still be salary.ini) and the individual player salaries in players.dbf.

Does anyone know it there is a dbf file that has all the upcoming draft prospects in it? There must be seeing we can scout them.

It's in the players dbf in your dynasty save. I just changed one of the players to me in my roomates dynasty and it worked. You also have to edit the accesories dbf as well. I can't wait--this will really make the dynasties that much better.

Exactly, and you can do it all much easier by using a program such as CDBFLite. Remember to do it in the accesories.dbf too. ;)

Yeah cheers cocobee, i found them, but one screwed up thing, players.dbf doesn't have height and weight in it, becasue i was going to change the super short sg's (5'11" etc) to a bit taller, i though it might just be becasue they are the porspects, but all the normal players dont have it in the dbf either.

Is it possible to edit dbf files in Microsft Access? I remember back in Live 2001 someone put out an "NBA Live toolkit" and it made editing soo much easier

you can also open dbf files with microsoft excel
if you don't have excel, or don't have the money to buy it, download open office at http://www.openoffice.org/ it's free and it has a word processor as well as a spreadsheet processor...

I am not sure it's only for me or not. I used to use excel to edit 2004, but this year, if I use excel to open the dbf and then save, I got something error like have the player having a black head with a white body.

Have you guys met this problem? What editors do you use?
