it's the shading feature used for the lighting that you graphics card doesnt support

im having the same problem
i have an NVIDIA Geforce 4 MMX 64MB.

u need to update ur graphics card drivers
and if that doesnt work u should get a new video card
Sat Oct 30, 2004 8:53 pm
Yea, 64Mbit is very little now a days.
If the drivers doesn't work to update, then I'm affraid a new graphic card with 128 Mbit or maybe 256 if you got money to spend would be the alternative.

i have the most updated drivers..
so i guess itz time to update the card...need money...

I too can't use the lighting option (GeForce2 MX 32 MB -- don't laugh

)...everything else works great though.

Is the Geforce 4 a direct x 9 card? Maybe that's why.

Does anyone with the FX 5200 have the same problem?

Update your drivers. All FX should be able to turn on lighting and NO the lighting DOES NOT use DX9 shaders. You need a card which is at least DX8.1 capable to use it.
G4 MX is DX7 and don't even get me started on the crappy Intel integrated graphics. Also it shouldn't matter if your card is 64 mb, 128 mb, or 256 mb to show lighting. People also should not confuse the on board mem with the bus width which is MUCH MORE important. Meaning for those who don't know just because you have a 256 mb GPU DOES NOT mean you have a 256 bit GPU.

Hotshot, r u using FX5200 ? and got a same problem ?
cuz I'm using Geforce4 Mx440 64Mb, the game works fine
I even play it with maximum detail.
the only problem is the lighting disabled.
And I'm just about to get an FX series.
But it's got the same problem ?

I don't have the game yet. The reason I asked is because I have both NHL and FIFA 2005 and the glowy lighting effect I've seen in screenshots is not there when I play the game on my computer. I'm guessing NBA Live uses the same lighting technology too so it might not work right on my computer.
And yes, I do have all the latest drivers and directx 9.0c

you can enable the lighting option if you download the omega driver for your video card. i think you can find it in
www.omegadrivers.net

i'm not sure. you have to check if the omega driver supports your video card. if so, you can download it and install it in your computer.

you can't turn the lighting off and on if you are already in pending game. do it in the main menu screen or something
