Great, free GRAPHIC CONVERSION PROGRAM for TGA screenshots

Fri Oct 29, 2004 2:35 pm

EDIT: My original post is down below, but I just found a great free program for converting the stupid tga files that live 2005 saves screenshots as- you just open the program, select as many TGA files as you need to, and click convert. You can convert to any format practically- and even preset the size it will be (400x500, etc). Hope this is useful:

Hey all, I'm back, finally got internet at my new place.

Anyway, I finally got Live 2005 for PC today....and there's a screenshots folder just like in 2004...but pushing F12 doesn't do the trick, and I can't figure out what button does it. And, I know about print screen, but I don't like having to paste from the clipboard and all that. I just want it to go into the screenshots folder....anyone figured out what the "new F12" is?

It's good to be back....*buys everyone a beer*

i'm not really clear on what you mean.....do you mean you can press F12 to save the screenshot? (sorry I'm tired and couldn't understand that)....cause pressing F12 doesn't work for me in 2005....but it did in 2004

There's alot of different shit, it's a little annoying. The dittie importer doesn't even read the song files. Please tell me i don't have to listen to this garbage the whole year. :x

yeah the songs suck hard. last year, i turned them most off, there were at least a few that were pretty good----actually they were all mostly good, just not my taste. but these songs are shit.

it might be the same issue I've mentioned in other thread.

F12 doen't work when capturing the "MENU" screen.
(the 640x480 screen)

F12 works only during a game (or a paused game)

thank you gut

um.......so F12 does save SOMETHING to the screenshots folder from in-game, but it's a strange file that Windows doesn't recognize (maybe this is common, but I don't know)....a *.tga file? I have no clue, and when I click the 'use web service to find the right program to open it' or whatever, it doesn't know what the file is. I'm getting kind of mad at EA for changing so many things....that just make no damn sense. If it wasn't for the improvements in Dynasty Mode (which I'm even finding quite hard to navigate, despite the improvements), I would be boycotting and sticking with 2004...I can't believe I just layed down $40 for a DOWNGRADE of last year's version.

Well there are two methods I normally use. I can open the .tga files with PhotoShop CS and use them or I can press the Print Screen/SysRq button and paste the image into either PS or Paint and save it as a bmp or jpg which I did all the time last year so for me things haven't changed much.

I just don't see why in the world they would change the way it was last year....you just pressed F12 and it saved a bmp file directly into the screenshots folder, but now it saves in this format that windows doesn't even recognize- and i don't have photoshop....grrrrowl. oh, well, i guess i'll just have to be un-lazy. see my sig for further comments
