Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.
Fri Oct 29, 2004 5:55 am
I just got NBA Live 2005. And just like I did last year for Live 2004, I put the details on maximum including the Ingame resolution.
The games was very slow so I figured that I will put everything on minimum first, and then work my way up to see what the best graphics are that I can play with. BUT, even with everything on minimum the game still is slow for me. What to do? Here are my pc thingies:
2400+ AMD Athlon XP
512 MB DDR SDRAM
6 Gig left
Ati All in WOnder Radeon 7500 64 mb.
Please help!!!!

Hmm, well I don't know a single thing about AMD Athlon so I'd suggest that could be the only reason. I have a P4 and I can run any computer game very well.

Last year I could play live 2004 also perfect.

That just means you're graphic card drivers are out-to-date, had the same problem with NHL 2005.
Just download the newest drivers for your ATi card (Catalyst xx.xx if I'm right, just go to
www.ati.com)
Problem should be solved
Tough you have a very very old card.

2005 runs much better than last years. In 2004 i could never put the reflections on high becuase it killed my frame rate, regardless of my resolution. This years version runs flawlessly with everything maxed @ 1600x1280, im constantly above 50fps, i have to turn Vsync on cos my monitor refresh rate for 1600x1280 is 62hz and im getting screen rips all the time.

Uninstall the drivers again, then find a tool through Google which removes all traces of older ATI drivers.
Then install the drivers again.
I'd suggest getting all your drivers (chipset, soundcard etc.) up-to-date as well to get the best performance.

Hey BLUNTMAN.... how do you turn the feature on to check your FramesPerSecond.......... because I got the game for my PS2, didnt like it much, so now I have it for my PC, everything is pimp smooth except my framerate is seems, it just doesnt run as smoothly as my PS2 version....
I got 1.4ghz, 512ddr ram, and a Nvidia Gforce 128mb graphics card......
I mean on this graphics card things should run really smooth for most games right... Im wondering if its the rest of the parts in my comp, maybe my mother board or my 1.4 ghz proccessor (is it too slow)
cuz I got NHL 2005 and Madden 2005 on my computer and they run PERFECT!!! framerates on my NHL 2005 are AWESOME on my PC.. but my NBA live 2005 for some reason SUCKS... it doesnt feel smooth at all....
got any suggestions?? and can u tell me how can u set it up so I can see my framerates when I'm playing the game... thankz

ko8e, didnt you say you downloaded the game?

Yeah I got the illegal version. But a friend of mine also has it but it works for him, so it has to be something with the videocard or my computer.
JohnnyKnoxville: I have no knowledge at all about computers, how do I uninsltall the drivers? trough System then Hardware? and then delete the installation?
Right now Im trying to burn it on a x2 speed. Maybe something happend during the burning proces which was set on x16, and the second disc has most of the game art on it so hopefully that will work.

I have a copy as well, its makes no difference. A copy will play exactly like the original (as long as there's nothing wrong with it and its not a ripped version(shrunk version). I just want to say that i dont advocate the use of illegal software, the only reason i have it is because the game wont come out in the uk for about 6 weeks and when it does finally come out no bloody shops will carry it, but, i will still go and buy it, i always do.

I have no idea, i use Fraps!

I think you're not supposed to mention illegal games in here. This post will go bye bye tommorow I think.
Fri Oct 29, 2004 6:46 pm
Why? I dont support doing it, I will probably buy the game when it will be released (which will probably be somewhere late December over here
), I might get the same problem when I get the original game so I want to find out whats wrong. Rather help me out then telling me what not to do.

Just it has been the case in this forum that any posts in this forum mentioning ilegal games have been erased, not saying anything about you. (You should've never brought it up...)
I guess it's probably either a) installation error, b) try downloading the drivers again? c) no clue...maybe you need a new graphics card.
Fri Oct 29, 2004 6:54 pm
did you maybe download the wrong drivers?
Fri Oct 29, 2004 6:59 pm
I did reinstall the game a couple of times, and now I burned the art disc again on a lower speed. Also I deleted all the Ati drivers and replaced them with the new ones. But Im not sure if I got the correct ones. It does say:
Supported on the RADEON 9500, RADEON 9600, RADEON 9700, RADEON 9800, RADEON X300, RADEON X600, RADEON X700 or RADEON X800 Series of products.
I have a Ati Radeon All in Wonder 7500, so is this the correct file? (it was the only file that I could download actually)

I just found out that NBA Live doesnt support my Graphic card:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
c) Supported 3D Graphic Accelerators
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATI Radeon 8500, ATI Radeon 9000, ATI Radeon 9100,
ATI Radeon 9200, ATI Radeon 9500, ATI Radeon 9600, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro,
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, ATI Radeon 9800 XT, ATI All-In-Wonder 9700,
NVIDIA GeForce 2/MX/GTS/Ultra, NVIDIA GeForce 3/Ti,
NVIDIA GeForce 4/MX/Ti, NVIDIA GeForce FX series, Intel i865g Onboard,
NVIDIA nForce Onboard, NVIDIA nForce2 Onboard, Radeon 9100 Onboard
So it looks like I will have to get a new card, I might do it today. How does this one work? "ATI Radeon 9600"

Buy the game. I won't help you if you only have an illegal copy.

Just an official moderator reminder, discussions about illegal versions of the game aren't permitted by the forum rules out of respect to EA Sports and also in accordance with our hosting policy. This thread kind of dances the line because it doesn't actually supply information on where to acquire an illegal copy or request such information, but I've still decided to lock it.
However, if anyone has information that can help K0be4mvp with his video card problem, by all means PM him or post the information in a new topic. Thank you.
