if you really want to make your dynasty as realsitic as it can be:

1. Dont trade for a franchise player of other team by giving up 2 good player in your team (like the james for kirilenko-arroyo deal that CPU will accept.)

2. Trade that you will not rip the CPU team like trading for their future start by giving up a high rating veteran like Divac.

3. Never sign free agent with 59 below rating and immediately trade them as a filler in a 2 for 1 deal to get a player with 60 above rating.

I traded Yao Ming and Earl Boykins for Ben Wallace. I drafted for my Bobcats Dynasty that's why i have those 2 players. I traded Yao because i'm going to be playing a Houston Dynasty. Ben is actually scoring and rebounding like Yao so it was a good trade for me.

Then i traded Ben Gordon for Rafer Alston. Ben Gordon is very slow for a PG.

This is basically what micchy_boy is saying. In my Grizz dynasty, I'm not goin to make any trades, unless the real Grizzlies are trying to make a deal in real life, but other than that, I'm not making a trade. I want to see how I do with my real team and that's somethin I kinda missed in my last dynasty when I traded for Dampier and Artest, even though the Grizz had rumors going around saying that they were trying to get them.

i have to admit i have been trying to use charlotte as a team to dump my salary on lol. thing is i keep trying to get okafor in the deal and they keep saying no. pretty soon i might just have to dump lafrentz for a scrub just to ditch that damn 9mil salary.

Cavs won't trade their future for just VC, donyell and bosh unless james demand a trade ala-shaq" . and bobcats will not trade their foundation for a scrub and rose.

but in game video it will happen....

i dont tend to follow the laws of what is supposed to be realistic in nba live, i tend to just try and make my team better without doing anything cheap such as signing free agents only to trade them. i made 2 trades with my celtics team that i think will help our future. firstly i started off and right away tried to get okafor. not cause i wanted him really, just i wanted to dumb alot of salary and get a tradeable asset in return. i got charlotte to agree to take lafrentz, googs and someone else(forget right now) for okafor and 2 complete scrubs. now like i said i only got okafor to trade him away, and i had a player in mind all the time. i sent him to orlando with blount and allen for howard, battie, and a scrub. usually i dont trade for a player and retrade him during the same season but i did it this time as its the only way i could make a 3 team trade. happens all the time in the nba so hopefully they get it right in live soon. anyway i got a lineup of

howard
jefferson
davis
pierce
payton

with a bench rotation of 5

battie
mccarty
welsch
west
banks

i dont use anyone else and most are expiring scrubs anyway.

Actually, I don't think this is too far fetched. Vince carter is still one of the biggest draws in the nba, and he isnt far off the top echeloen of players. Chris Bosh is a definite plus as is marshall... The rose/ emeka deal is way unrealstic tho.

I have to go with Micchy_Boy and SbHZmAFiA. I like to keep my dynasties as realistic as possible. I usually only make trades that are going to happen or could have happend or did happen in real life.

But sometimes I will make a trade that wasn't even discussed but I know not to try to ruin another team by trading for there franchise player. Like for example when I get Live 2005 I might trade Kidd, now I might make a realistic trade to Portland that involved Abdur-Rahim or a 'fake' trade to Dallas that involves Terry.

However, I know what kind of trades happen in real life and that is the way I try to keep it.

i can see where you guys come from with wanting to keep realism in your dynasty but as we have seen over the years you cant really say what is or is not realistic. i would agree that trading for lebron is unrealistic as i fully believe that owner would not trade him for an entire team.

Yeah i agree with Sarau. I like to keep my trades fair, and sorta realistic, as long as im not ruining the other team i think its fair. I dont really like following real life too much, beacuse quite often i find the holes in the team very quick and can't stand to play with them, also there are soem players that i just don't like at all, and will try to trade them immediately.

exactly my thoughts. some players in the league i just dont want to use. i am not a ricky davis fan so i have tried to trade him(have not yet as i want something good in return or atleast a first round pick). now ricky has been damn good for me in my first 3 games but i will still unload him just cause i dont like him.

I agree with that.

Which is why I think EA should incorporate 'Player Personalities' from Madden 2005. If you click on a players name from your team or any other team they will comment on how happy they are with the team, so you always know when somebody has to be traded.

So if EA used that with NBA Live we could know when to trade a franchise player or when to keep him with his team.

oh i fully agree there. nba live still has along way to go to match madden and i hope that each year they take a bigger step forward instead of this big leap every 3-4 years.

I'm trying to trade Luke Jackson (rating 52) because he just plain sucks, he can't shoot, very poor ball handler (make a spin move and he throws it away), is slow. He's just a bad player. Along with LJ, I'm trying to move Ira Newble because of his lengthy contract.

Just no one will take these fools for anything decent.

usually if i cant trade a player for anyone worth taking i wait til about the trade deadline and try to package them for a draft pick. its what i think i am gonna do with ricky davis. though i noticed live still got that annoying shit where the comp says "not interested in trading draft picks at this time". they need to just flat out remove that.

Started my dynasty with the Bobcats yesterday.
Playing 5 minute quarter matches on superstart, 29 game season.

I don't want to do unrealistic trades that would make my team good.
Trades done so far:
Jason Hart for Slava Medvedenko
Melvin Ely and Bernard Robinson for Yuta Tabuse (90 for speed :) ) and Jake Voshkul
Theron Smith for Zhizhi Wang
Signed Charles Oakley due to Medvedenkos 1 month injury

Played 6 games, and am 2-4 so far.
