1-on-1

I don't know if anyone has played it yet, but it is surprisingly better than all of the past years. I was Marbury playing against Telfair on just starter () and we were playing a very good game. The CPU uses freestyle control and takes it to the basket a lot and if you are slow he pulls up for J's too. He takes it right at you regardless and plays good D too.

If you want to know how much better the AI is over last year's game, just play 1-on-1 and see how much improved and more life like your opponent plays, especially just one-on-one. (Y) (Y)

I'm glad to hear that :) Live 2004's one on one AI was horrible... all the cpu ever did was use pro-hop and take the ugly hook shot

My first posts tells how they play on starter-in one-on-one mode at least. I play normal games on all-star though.

Imma go play some 1 on 1 soon then. It sounds pretty cool that you are actually able to have some competition with the CPU on 1 on 1.

Love it Live :)

The 1-on-1 this year is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST of the series.

Its the animations i think. And also the mid-range game. You and more importantly the CPU will be playing a lot more realistically.

I played MJ (created) vs Kobe, me bein MJ, and Kobe did a lot of realy nice stuff against me. he would stutter step then pull-up for a mid-range fadeaway. He would post me up and jump hook or up and under. REALLY GOOD. I mean the past years, all the CPU does is either drive or shoot a 3. This year is completely different. Its the first time on all f the other Lives that I really felt i was really havin a 1-on-1.

it's getting a little nba streety... I personally don't mind... I play games to have fun. If I want realistic basketball I pick up my ball and go play, video games are supposed to be fun and we should be able to do in them something we can't do ourself, like self alleyoops of the glass

:P

I can throw it off the backboard and dunk it!

I seriously can but not right now because I have a bone spur in my foot

i duno about 1 on 1 mode, but i am pretty sure when u are playing the rookie sophmore game, or the east west all star game, if u press in the R3 stick(ps2) he throws the lob to himself of the glass and u have to go and press square to dunk it like u would to dunk in a rebound, you can try it in practice too, i tried in practice with tmac and i did it ... it doesnt work in regular games though

Well if it works in 1on1 at least I can do some flashy stuff online.. :D unless it's possible to have online all star games (with backboard dunks).

It works in one-on-one, it's actually a great move if you can time it right. The CPU doesn't have anyone else to knock the ball away so as long as you can make the catch, you are in good shape.

R3 on ps2 throws the lob and square will catch it-think of it like a tipslam like freestyle air. The off the backboard can't be done in any other modes besides the all star game, rookie challenge, practice, and one-on-one. The only glitch is that anyone can do it and anyone can do a tip slam.

I haven't tried, but I've done it with marbury, telfair, and jason williams.

everyone that has Xbox this is how u throw it off the glass in 1on1, rook. vs Soph. and all star game: move toward the basket and move the right joystick up it should work. Then u gotta time the put-back dunk button to finish it. Mostly works on fast breaks and on pick and rolls.....will not work if defender is in front of u.
