Pretty Difficult When Starting Dynasty

Postby The Future on Fri Oct 01, 2004 7:11 am

if your like me, you want very accurate rosters.

So, its hard to start a dynasty (like around this time)because a lot has been swirling around.

1)B Diddy Trades
2)VC Wants out of Toronto(who wouldn't lol)
3)I read somewhwere today that RODMAN might go to the Nuggets

So, how its diffuclt. Say ur havin a realyl godo dynasty...and like RODMAN comes back.....you will want to start over....but I guess Ill just deal with it somehow lol

I know exactly what you mean, I was hesitant myself but I want to get a handle on it for a review in the near future.

I want to start a dynasty badly but I want realistic sliders before I do. Plus, I need to get use to the gameplay still and move up to superstar. I struggle on starter and all-star right now.

The game doesn't come out here for ages so I'll start one as soon as I get it. Probably.

Trades during the season don't bother me (afterall that's why I'm playing Dynasty mode right), it is opening day rosters that I am more concerned with. I make sure I have that right then go from there. I do implement season trades for my normal roster file but I only use opening day rosters for Dynasty mode.

thats exactly how i feel. i make sure the rosters are up to date as of opening day then i play. i would never restart a dynasty cause of a real life trade. i mean would you restart your dynasty if 2 comp teams made trades in the game? it cant always be 100% accurate if you are in dynasty mode.

about the fantasy draft, its nice ythat they have this but i only use it after i have played my main dynasty til i was bored of it. also i always give myself the last pick in the draft. i random the order a certain amount of times then i just move my name to the bottom no matter where i land.

I started a dynasty with the Raptors, am currently 2-1. I just hope that Vince or any other Raptors dont get traded. I dont like playing a dynasty and the player is not on that team.

This happened last year with my Raptors dynasty, i started it and then about 2 weeks later Davis, JYD and Jeffries got traded for Rose, Marshall and Mason. I tryed to do it in my dynasty but the computer Bulls wouldnt accept it, i was very mad!

Hopefully this will not happen this year. :D

For me it's more if all the rookies are in the game. If some aren't in the game then i have to create them or hope there's a code to unlock them.

Best time to start a dynasty is after the trade deadline, you know that there aren't any big named guys changing teams and can play with ease then.

in a dynasty everything changes anyway. why even play a dynasty if you need everything to remain just like the nba? why not just play a single season?

I always do a fantasy draft so I can try to make my own team of my favorite people because I don't really have a favorite team no more. I just pick the team with the coolest jerseys and use fanstasy draft.

yeh, well PC version comes out october.....prolly come here my late november.....so by then the big name players that want out would have prolly been traded....

but yeh I dont worry abt it, I mean as Saura says if u want the same rosters as the NBA then play a single season......I mean u'll never have a proper dynasty if u want it to be like the NBA....u get generic rookies, CPU - CPU trades happenin.....thats the fun of it....

if it was gonna do the same as the NBA, I mean whats the point then its like practically pointless imo........

I dont think I made alotta sense cause I was typing it so fast  , but just expanding a lil on what Saura said.

what's the point if having opening night rosters...i mean you have to wait before the season starts to get your dynasty under way. My roster will be as accurate as it can be the day i get it and then I'll go straight into Dynasty. I mean the CPU will make trades anyway.

well for me matt i am waiting for the pc version thats why mine will be acurate up to opening day. if i had bought the ps2 version i would have just started with the most updated rosters i could have.

i wonder, will they update gasol in the pc version to show he just got a 6 year extension? or will he still be a free agent after the first season. i hope they fix that cause its always easy for us to make a trade, but we cant change a players contract.

btw k3232x, i agree makeing 50 trades during the first season is a bit off. sometimes i try to use the real team for 1 full season before i make the changes but last year and this year too probably i think i will gut my team from the start. whats great about this years live is since we can see some of the upcomeing rookies we can determine if its worth gutting a team or tradeing up in the draft. in past lives you just had to hope for a good draft and it was totally random.
