Operation Sports mini-review

I know a lot of questions need to be answered, but here are some answers to some very popular ones. Thanks to KDRE for gathering them all for me.

In some games I am having high offensive rebound stats, but I’d say for the most part, they balance out to be fairly realistic. Tipping or dunking in rebounds isn’t an easy task, but it feels so rewarding when you get the chance.

Sliding is definitely still in the game. I think it’s a little better than last year tho. I’ll try to play w/ the sliders to see if I can see a little less sliding.

I haven’t seen the AI catch up from behind this year, last year the AI seemed to run you down on the fastbreak w/ ease, w/ superspeed. Not the case this year.

I’m still playing around w/ the foul sliders to get some realism out of them. At the end of games, I haven’t been frustrated w/ non-calls, but there have been a few during the game, but that happens in real life.

The AI will double on the “Hot” guy. At the beginning of the game, they rarely double at all. They do change from man to man into a zone on occasion to change things up.

Atmosphere and commentary is about the same as last year IMO. There are of course new things Marv and the crew have to say. I wish the crowd would get more into the games and stadiums had authentic sounds. Maybe next year.

Remember the bumping last year, that pushed you back a few feet on collision?? It has been removed, thankfully.

There is still an invisible force field but it’s a touch better this year.

There is a delay for the AI on inbound passes this year. You couldn’t really setup to steal the inbounds passes last year, this year they give you more time. It was frustrating last year, to say the least.

There is still some slowdown, but it’s mostly during cut scenes. I have seen more slowdown on the press box view than on any other view.

I haven’t seen big name players traded when simming a few seasons. I noticed a few 1st round picks traded for bench or role players tho.

Malone, Mourning, Gill, Strickland, Padgett, Fizer, Griffin, Outlaw, Best (to name a few)…they are all in the FA pool.
